The location is a 10 minute walk from the subway. Not a problem if you ask me.

Really great experience staying here! No shoes are allowed inside, and the hostel is very clean. The mixed dorm room beds have lots of extra room beside the mattress which was much appreciated and very convenient. It feels like an old house inside, with beautiful hardwood floors. Fantastic common area with comfy seating and a well equipped kitchen. I met a few people here, and I was only here for 3 nights in August, so I think this is perfect for solo travellers in Nagoya. The bar below the hostel (ran by the owner of the who is very kind and speaks English) opens after 8pm, seems like a local hangout. I highly recommend yoruyonaka guesthouse to anyone staying in Nagoya. This has been my favourite hostel to stay in Japan!

Maybe hand towels could do with extra change overs in the toilet area.

The room was comfortable with good air conditioning to cope with the summer heat. There was enough space in the twin room for two people that are not a couple - I was travelling with an adult son. The living area was really great and we had good evenings in the company of other travellers.

Our room was next to the common area so there were some noises, but it was ok. A small table in the room would have been a nice addition.

In the separate room the shelfs can be a good thing as there is none.

I didn't know there was a balcony in my room until I spoke with a second employee a few days into my stay about my desire to dry some washed clothing.

This is a cool spot to have a budget stay in Nagoya. It's not too far from a subway station, and the staff are receptive to guests' needs, i.e. they have drying racks on the balcony, curtains around the beds, and a common area with seats, outlets, etc.

The location isn't great but that's not the guest house's fault

The owner Chihiro is incredibly kind and fun to talk to. She also runs the bar downstairs and will spend all night talking to and caring for the guests and outside customers. The guest house is very large with a decent sized kitchen and big common area. If you have other guests to talk to it really elevates the experience. The beds have plenty of space for your luggage, too.

Was a little challenging to have large luggages to haul up/down the stairs as we were on the third floor, but there was kind staff available at the time of our arrival to help us with lifting our bags so all good :) It was a short 10-min walk from the station too so would recommend packing light, and making sure your luggage wheels are sturdy 😄

Loved how cozy the place was, it was perfect for me and my friends :) The necessary amenities were available, and the facilities like the common area and the bar were also great additions. Made the place more unique. Was also close to several convenience stores and tourist attractions so we were able to hit quite a lot of spots during our short stay.

Amazing place, big living room with desk to work, full equipped kitchen, dorms were spacious and next to each bed you had quite some space to store extra clothes, backpack... Each bed had a power outlet and the place was very clean. Multiple stores close by By far the best hostel we visited during our trip!

I guess checking-in could have been smoother.

Great stay for adventurers exploring Nagoya. The lounge was very cosy and comfortable, a great place to meet other like-minded adventurers. The izakaya that is run by the host on the first floor was great fun, adding to the authentic japanese atmosphere and a great source of alcohol for a fun evening. Host was a lovely japanese lady that is very accommodating even though she is busy running both the hostel as well as the izakaya.

The door lock and knobs of the private rooms needs to be replaced. It is so hard to lock the doors even if they provide instructions. At first I thought it was just our room.. turns out even the private room next door is experiencing the same issue. Also it is quite a long walk around 10mins to the nearest train station.

We had a lovely stay! The common room is very comfortable and spacious. We booked the private room with 2 beds, it’s bare bones but have enough space for luggages. It is an easy 10 min walk to Osu shopping district. Near convenience stores and a coffe shop famous in Nagoya. Also a plus that they have a bar downstairs if you’re into that.
