When I got to the 3rd floor I thought the toilet would be nasty because the landing of the third floor smells like cat pee. But the toilet was clean. The kitchenette was ok but a little outdated. The rooms didn’t smell. But I something by the check in window smells like cat pee.

The hostel is in a really good location. It was a really good price.

The space was tight, the bed was noisy, and the common room was messy. The price was cheap, so there’s not a lot to complain about, but the place could definitely be tidier, even if simple.

Location was pretty good, right in the middle of Gion. It is convenient to get in and out, and it doesn't require a check-in/checkout procedure. Cheap price.

Room got a bit stuffy and shower was downstairs.

Literally right next to everything and lots of great restaurants around! Staff was lovely and had free towels to use Laundry was also only £4 (wash and dry!) Bed was comfy!!

There isn't much space, so if you are in a group or expect to spend much time in the hostel, this is maybe not the best spot to stay. It feels more like a crammed apartment than a proper hostel.

Fantastic location for a hostel, especially for the price. Overall solid experience without much to complain about.

The first impression is a little off-putting, everything is cobbled together. But it's kept clean. The people were super nice. In the end it had charm for me. if you want to be in the centre of Kyoto, here you are.

narrow kitchen, just 1 shower, but if its not crowed its not a problem

very good location, just next to the bars and clubs area, but the hostel itself is quiet. very tiny commun area ( the kitchen is very narrow ) but there is everything you need so its good. the only hostel available with a correct price at the time i stayed, i was expecting worst but its actually pretty ok

The blinds for the bed were assembled from towels and strings and didn’t really covered anything.

The bedroom ventilation is not efficient. We are 8 per room, so it was smelly. Only one bathroom for 3 rooms. For the price, don't expect a high standing, but it's fine.

The location is perfect, the bed is comfortable. You can leave your luggage for free before/after check in/check out The hostel is really cheap.

The guesthouse was in a very convenient location with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The transport was easy as well. The staff in the guesthouse were all really helpful and kind. The room itself was tidy and clean, and the futon was comfortable.

For the price, can’t complain about much. Wouldn’t be a good place to stay long term but for 3 nights it served us perfectly.

Great location, near lots of the major attractions in Kyoto, as well as a lot of cool bars and restaurants. Clean private tatami room with comfortable bedding. Clean almost private bathroom and good water pressure in the shower. Perfect for a short stay in Kyoto!

The beds were a bit noisy which was little triggering.

The owner was really friendly, although he didn't speak much English, he managed to communicate everything that was necessary. He also let as leave our luggage in lockers for about 10 hours after our check-out. We had 2 beds in 4 bed-room with AC, beds had curtains which was a big plus. Towels, soaps were provided as well. Overall, we didn't pay much and it was well worth this price :>

Kitchen if functional. It seem to be falling apart. Things are held by taping . Brushing ur teeth sink is in the kitchen. Tight space as everyone want to hang there. Was a busy place. By end of the day bathroom is dirty. Should be cleaned throughout the day when so many people are staying. Sleeping area is also tight when so many backpacks and suitcases are in the same room. When one runs a facility as a business for many many years. Owner should be also be spending money to make the kitchen better.

Staff were excellent, very helpful. Location is great. Close to subway, buses, walking, centre of town.
