We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThe fact that there is no private washroom. The onsen is great and all but some still prefer a private washroom. Many girls avoided going to the onsen when there was another girl there. It also tiring to go to another floor in the middle of the night just to get to the bathroom.
The staffs were super helpful and amazing. They can explain in English and of course in Japanese too. The washing machine was great. The onsen is great too

United StatesEach toilet booth needs more space. The tiny hand wash sinks in the toilet are useless. need washing area right next to the toilets area instead of 10th floor or open up washing area in the cabin all the time. The floor plan is choppy and inefficient. We ladies have to move up and down too often. Poor design.

United StatesThe elevator broke while I was there and we had to exit through a staff stairwell in our slippers on to the street. That said. It was promptly repaired and the front desk host gave us new slippers and was very professional. These things happen. Life is not perfect. I would stay here again anytime.
Incredible convenient location to downtown Tokyo Akihabara. I loved the onsen. The basement lounge was cozy and had free coffee and tea. Staff were very professional and attentive.

HungaryThe storage capacity is a bit small, and if several people use the storage at the same time, it is difficult to fit, as space is limited. Also, when you are inside the building, you cannot tell what the weather is like outside because there are no windows; in fact, there is no connection to the outside world.
It was my first time in a capsule hotel and I absolutely loved it. Well equipped with bath opportunities, always clear. Staff is helpful, location is great!

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThere is only one elevator for 10 floors, and that is the only reason why I'm deducting the one point. It's painful to sit there watching the elevator stop on every floor or every other floor and you only need to go to the floor above. Stairs would be nice. One more thing, everyone gets a locker of the same size stacked side by side, but the premium plan has a single locker and a blank part of a wall right next to the locker which is going unused, please consider expanding the lockers for the premium plans to fit the available area. It would be a cheap upgrade for the hotel, a huge bonus for premium customers, make more room for their personal belongings AND it would shorten the amount of trips to the oversized baggage area on the first floor. Please consider this option.
The location is amazing, it is close to Akiba station and close to Ueno station with connections to the subway systems in Tokyo. Great if you coming via Narita by the Keisei Skyliner. It was raining the first morning and the wonderful staff gave me an umbrella. もう一度ありがとうございました。 It is extremely quiet and comfy to sleep. Amenities are all there and plentiful, the onsen is a huge bonus after a long day of travels. The vending machine that serves drinks has a sport nutrition drink called DAKARA, which will save you on hot sunny days. Kinda wish I had booked it for Kyoto as well.

FranceNot enough place for the price
Yes the deal is not easy for someone who’s coming “just to try” .. and Certainly jails in France are more spacious than here. But the place is very clean and the staff is professional . “Some” customers are not quiet this can quickly make the stay unbearable even if everything is done by the staff to make it almost pleasant.

United KingdomThis was an expensive stay for a shared hostel-style room in a capsule. It was quite noisy with televisions in the capsules and the very small locker area within the bedroom. There was also only one elevator for multiple floors, which meant waiting a long time for the lift, which you had to do to use facilities across different levels. Your locker and shower facilities are on different levels, meaning you kind of want to travel between levels in only a towel but with a single lift this is not appropriate.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant throughout. They all spoke good English, compared with other properties. On checking out a member of staff even offered me an umbrella because it was raining. I turned this down because I was taking a train the airport and wouldn't have been able to return it, however the receptionist was accepting of that - very kind. The reception area was modern and clean. The shower facilities with onsen were good, along with free hot drinks provided 24/7.

CanadaThe common area is too cramped. It’s just a small room with only enough space to sit and face the wall. The bathroom/sink/locker areas were also all too cramped making it all just feel like quite a claustrophobic experience. I got used to it by the 3rd of my 4-night-stay but it was a bit jarring to adjust to at first. Also the showers are closed from 10am to noon every day which is pretty absurd. A single elevator transported 10 floors of hotel guests and no stairs were available for public use which meant for consistently long elevator waits to use showers, common space, access lobby, or even brush your teeth at night. This hotel was designed to maximize number of beds at the expense of amenities. An entire floor should have been dedicated to lounge space. Aside from all these faults, it was in a great neighborhood, the staff were very nice, it was clean and well maintained and care and thought had been put into the decor and finishings.

BrazilI speak Japanese, so there was no issue. For those who don't, it might be hard to communicate with staff, be sure you're prepared with information. The locker room is quite small, maneuvering your belongings and preparing for each day is a chore if you have more than a single backpack. If it had maybe a countertop there, it would make a world of difference.
Staff was very helpful and understanding, even after checkout they stored my luggage for the day. Shower room is very nice. Capsules are quiet and comfortable, fairly spacious.

United StatesThe main issue that I had was my capsule didn't already come with pillow, blanket and towels which it was supposed to. The staff was kind and brought me some when I told them about it however that made my experience a little bad. There is also only 1 elevator which makes going up and down VERY slow.
I was able to recieve a breakfast voucher. The staff was also attentive whenever I needed something.

United Kingdom- For girls the bath and lounge is on the 10th floor while you stay on different floors and there's only one lift it takes some time to wait. - The lockers are not big enough so you have to keep on the reception floor and the locker room kinda small so it's inconvenient if you always have to access your luggage - it's capsule so of course when you get to your capsule you can only sleep, you can sit but kneeling/stand up. Also there's only one usb port and the Japanese socket
1) The location - It's just a few minutes walk from the akibahara JR station and it's right next to Sukiya. The sign is big enough to be spot easily 2) The price 3) the bath room - there's a artificial onsen thing, kinda small could only fit three to four people but it's nice after a tiring day. The kelp tea outside the bath is very nice too 4) the staffs are friendly even they can barely speak English
