Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainA bit noisy at night. Overall cleaning could be better.
Private studio in a good area, close to main districts and attractions. Great quality for the price.

FranceThis is not a really nice place to stay as a hotel or a youth hostel, it should be more considered as a guest house managed by a private owner even if not applicable. The kitchen and the living room are not suitable for a lot of people... but again I personally really enjoyed my time there because I was able to adapt. I believe this place is very nice for a group of friends but not for individual traveller...
8/10 because the staff was very nice and friendly, then the food from the restaurant was simple but very good and tasty. My mattress was quite comfortable.

PhilippinesShared outlets, which was fine until the occupant on the bed below took it all to themselves leaving me with no means to charge phones for the night. Photos on the site listing seem old and the actual facilities look dated already. I thought there was no heater until midway on my trip, thankfully there was an onsen nearby. Space is a bit cramped. No dedicated space for large luggages but it's more of a solo traveler friendly space anyway.
Almost like an old style house. Comfortable and warm blankets. Nice that there is a restaurant with vegan friendly options but it was closed during my stay. Walking distance to main road with bus stops. Friendly staff. Self check in and a good view of the river in front. Safety lockers to keep valuables. Eight minute walk from a Fresco supermarket.

New Zealandthe photos on booking are either out of date or made somewhere else. the dorm was really small and not much space to leave your belongings we nearly ran out of toilet paper its a bit dirty in some areas and run down
the location was great. i also liked that the place was locked with pin code it has lockers for your passport and items you want secure communication before arrival for staff and check in was smooth also that I could drop off my bags prior to check in

SpainThe kitchen was not very well equipped and could be cleaner (drawers, kettle etc.), there was dish soap but no sponge to use for cleaning the dishes.
The location was amazing. The owner was exceptionally kind and helpful. They provided soap and shampoo in the bathroom, a hair dryer was also available. The studio was quite comfortable and had a lot of storage space.

JapanThe guesthouse is part of a Israeli restaurant "Gojo Paradiso", but for some reason advertises itself under a different name, possibly to avoid identification as an Israeli-owned property. For this reason alone I would not recommend it, but further the pictures provided on the booking page are highly unrepresentative of the current state of the facilities, which are somewhat in disrepair and not sufficiently cleaned. The hosts are also prone to watch tv late at night. You may still think it's acceptable for the price, but the fact is the standard for cheap hostels in similarly good localizations in Kyoto is generally significantly higher. Recommended for Israeli backpackers I guess, but not for anyone else.

The guesthouse is very pleasant, good hospitality and kind people. Me and my partner stayed at the dorms and loved it. Bed was comfortable, very quiet and air conditioning was great. The location was perfect, just 5 min walk from the train station and buses. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. There’s a great restaurant with Hummus, Falafel etc. and a nice bar. All in all great experience, recommend it for all types of travelers.

PortugalThe place itself is poorly put together, but good enough for a short stay. It was very dirty though, dust and cobwebs everywhere. There is a kitchenette, but the kitchen wares are very old and stained. There is also a washer, which you can use for free. We did not use it so I cannot comment on it. Overall I was expecting it to be nicer. We got a very good deal thanks to booking but I would not pay full price for this place.
The location is great, as it's in a quiet neighbourhood, close to the center and by the creek. Very pretty at night as well.

Israeli stayed at the dormitory which is very basic and before that at a private studio which is much better. however, if they will upgrade the dormitory level i think the price will not stay the best as it is so i am ok as is.
The beds were rearranged with personal electric connection, place for the phone, light and new curtains from my last time. it is still basic place, not fancy at all but for me so great because it is special place, special vibe, special location. its all like you are in a remote village while infact you are at the middle of the city. really best location

Excellent stay, hosts were kind, know English and welcome solo travelers. An excellent experience for backpackers. Price is very good and location is excellent, right in the center of Kyoto, 15 min walk from Nishiki Market and Gion. Quite neighborhood fool of cafes with lake views. Beds were really comfortable and clean. All in all really recommended this place .

United StatesThe wifi is horrible--it works fine when you're literally the only person in the hostel but as soon as there's one or more other people using it, it stops working. Clearly, they're using a router meant for a personal apartment and expecting it to work for an entire hostel and restaurant--not sure why they would choose to frustrate their guests every single night rather than invest in a suitable wifi. The place is very cramped, things are falling apart (like the curtains on my bed which fell constantly and were in complete disrepair), and I wasn't even given a pillowcase if you can believe that. The location is inconvenient--a very far walk to the center where you can find places to eat or go sightseeing. You have to take two buses to go almost anywhere.
Not sure why this place has any good reviews

United KingdomOne of the worst hostels I've stayed in. The facilities/cleanliness were the problem. The "living space" wasn't functional for anything really. There was random furniture items scattered across the sofas rendering them useless. The mixed dormitory was positioned directly above the below restaurant which proved to be a problem on a couple of fronts. The walls separating the room of the downstairs restaurant/bar from the mixed dormitory seemed to either be made up of gaps, or paper thin. You could hear everything from the bar downstairs with noise continuing past 23:30 making it very difficult to get to sleep. The smell and aroma of the kitchen filtered directly up into the dormitory which made my clothes and the bedsheets smell of cooking - this was unpleasant. One below standard, makeshift, mouldy, bug filled shower to share across 12 beds was not enough. I had the displeasure of using this and it was pretty bad. There were small flies coming from a gap in the ceiling throughout my shower. The water pressure was volatile making it difficult to shower. And the general cleanliness and condition of this weren't good at all. I'd strongly recommend you stay somewhere else!

RomaniaThis accommodation is not a proper guesthouse or hostel. It operates primarily as an Israeli restaurant, and appears to rent out rooms as a side business in extremely poor conditions. The space was very small, dirty, and noisy. Every night there were loud conversations and music until 2:00 AM, making it impossible to rest. My room had no windows, poor ventilation, and an unpleasant smell, forcing me to sleep on the couch for two nights instead of using the provided bed. The beds themselves were very uncomfortable and the entire setup felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. The atmosphere was exclusive to a specific group, with guests and staff speaking only Hebrew and showing little regard for others staying in the property. I felt out of place and completely ignored. This listing is misleading, and in my opinion, should not be on Booking.com. I strongly recommend an investigation into whether it meets the platform's standards. The photos from booking are fake or from 1990. Just to imagine, it was cherry blossom season, every accomodation was full but they had empty beds.
Nothing, I would better sleep outside than inside this accomodation. The streets in Japan are cleaner than inside the rooms.

CanadaThe bed felt like it was going to break if I weighed 20 pounds more. The staff had a party till just after midnight and the dorm was above the dining area so I could hear everything. Facilities were in need of a renovation. Very old school vibes.
