Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Hong KongNothing. Should stay longer here so that I can slowly visit different spots nearby.
The staff is nice and introduces the hostel facilities/ surrounding restaurants/ shops in good details. The whole hostel, including common space, kitchen, sleeping room, is large and I feel comfortable to stay here! The hostel is quite near to the 2 popular Gogayama district heritage villages. Recommend to stay here if traveling this area.

CambodiaIt is a small local village surrounded by mountains, only can access by buses. There are not many restaurants or coffee etc around. If you are a city person like to have night life please think about it.
The guesthouse is located in a mountain, full of locals. Hard to see foreigners. But the view is amazing, surrounded by the beautiful mountain and river view. The house is super clean with fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Hot water is ready to use for you at any time. We slept very well after a long day walking travel. The owner tried his best to use google translator to communicate with us. He also introduced us some marts and restaurant around, even the bus timetable. He is amazing.

United StatesSuper friendly host welcomed us with a big smile and patiently explained everything to us. The house is very nice and very clean, including a big kitchen-dining area and a small workspace. Location is ideal to explore the area. Ainokura village is 5 min by car, Shirakawa-go 30min. The little town has a bakery, restaurant and supermarket

CanadaAt first, the region’s unavoidable stink bugs. But the host was transparent about their presence and how to catch them. All part of the experience.
The guesthouse was a perfect launch point for seeing the historic sites in the area, and the host was incredibly helpful and courteous. It was remote, but felt like a luxury ski cabin in the woods.

Malaysia- it's beside the road at the corner, poor sound proof. luckily there is not much vehicles travel that area and we check out very early in the morning, so that doesn't really bother us. - insects (smelly bug), although the owner warn us and provide us with the tools and equipment to catch it, but it still there is way too many, we catches at least 10 of it.
+ affordable price, not sure there is any air con as per listing, but it cooling enough during my stay. + help and friendly owner (I guess), but he don't speak English, thanks for Google translate app + free parking just in front of the hotel, but its limited, max only 3~4 vehicles. + futon is comfy and clean + we arrives in the late evening and checked out early in the morning, there is mini mart nearby where you can get some bread and snacks, we didn't really explore the town, its a quiet town. + if you driving, you should visit the local onsen nearby.

United StatesIn fall there is a regional stink bug problem as they seek warm shelters for the winter. However, they are easily disposed of with a dedicated utensil, which I personally found entertaining. The limited public transit, shops and dining places makes the place less suitable for people travelling without a car.
The accomodation is beautiful, furnished with lovely wooden furniture and great attention to detail. My room was clean, comfortable and larger than in similar accomodations in the region. The owner is very kind and pleasant and offered many tips about the area and the rest of my trip in Japan in general.
