Some parts did not seem properly clean.

Albeit slightly expensive, the private room was HUGE, by all standards. There was a kitchenette area, and two separate tatami rooms. Perfect for families or a group of people. The garden was beautiful.

Getting to the Gora Station and Open Air Museum was a challenge. Walking uphill to restaurants and other activities was not possible unless a good workout was the goal. None of the taxi drivers had heard of the hotel.

Very very helpful staff. However, several things were not working in the room, and controlling the heating system was confusing.

There is a heater in the bedroom but no heating in the living room. The public bathroom is cold.

It should be a bit cleaner. There were some dead insects and one waste bin was not emptied.

no hot water in hand basin or bath. cold water trickle only. shower hot water becomes cold then back to hot. shower spray sharp and painful. almost impossible to shower.

foam futon and pillow not completely clean everywhere, dirt accumulation in tight spaces like light switches, plumbing fixtures one shower shared among all rooms, in a beautiful old bath that clearly used to many people at once, and which could again if it were restored (probably an expensive renovation though). hot water system needs an upgrade, shower temperature required frequent adjustment. air conditioner remote was difficult to figure out but it was a great night to open the windows and enjoy cool breezes.

excellent location and nice property. well-decorated and comfortable. we felt happy to stay there and slept well. even with the hilly nature of Hakone, this place is walkable to useful bus stops, restaurants, and stores, even the Open Air Museum if you don’t mind 1 mile uphill.

I couldn't get the wifi to work, but the cell phone internet signal is very good for multiple networks.

Beautiful Japanese style room. Wonderful staff, very kind and helpful. Easy access by T bus (do not go to the Gora train station!! The walk is steep crumbling stairs). Great location, easy to get T bus directly down to Hakone ropeway. T bus to H bus to Motohakone can take a little while due to transfers. Everything is very comfortable, clean, all amenities provided.

The property is spacious, got very things I needed.The host provided me a a single room with all the stuffs I needed and dropped by to help me in about 5 minutes and answer all my questions and she was very nice to me.

The bus runs that runs from Gora station is a bit infrequent. It is walkable from gora station but not with any bags as it is a very steep route.

Lovely couple running the place helped us with our bags and showed us where to go around town. Appartment was lovely and felt very traditional.

1. Almost no parking, only couple of spaces for supermini cars available. 2. Shared shower is disaster - just single separate cabin in the ex-onsen room, also not clean. 3. Overall cleanliness - very basic, seems not enough efforts putting due to the big room size. 4. The property requires the shoes removing on the entrance, but not enough slippers for all gests available.

Surround is quiet and nice. That's a first and last plus.

This Ryokan is in need of major repairs. Air conditioner is broken Bath is dirty with hair stuck in drain. Not good value for the money we spent

- we got there and there was no toilet paper - the toilet didn’t flush - it took very long to get the room warm - there was supposed to be free wifi but it didn’t work - we called the number that was written to call if there were any problems and she (I think is the owner?) was not very helpful. It took three phone calls, luck (she was Chinese and I was with someone that spoke Chinese) and pushing to get what we needed. Even then, we were left having to use the toilet of the room upstairs, and the wifi was only given to us the next morning. - do not recommend

- it’s a regular Japanese style room. Futons were fine. There was a big bath.

Front desk is rarely attended. There is no internet in the room nor the counter area. Power switched off automatically if you use the heater and the kettle at the same time.

the room was not really ready to use. I had to fill up the toilet water tank for flushing each time. it was one night so no problem. the repairman was not available. I wish the room had more towels I didn’t manage to use shower in the morning !
