The property is located close to the canal area. There is a tablet in the room with all of the directions for the appliances and where you can message a staff member if you have any questions or concerns. They were quick to respond. Our room had a separate bedroom and living room area, so our family of four was able spread out. Overall a comfortable stay.

AustraliaThe kitchen and coffee table could have been cleaner. There was very little floor space for suitcases, particularly larger ones. There was no supermarket close by and only one hot plate which meant self catering for dinner was difficult. The washing machine didn't have an effective drying function and there wasn't much drying space for clothes.
Very close to the Bikan quarter. Parking for smaller cars in front and larger cars next door. Convenience store a short walk away and restaurants opposite. Having a separate lounge area was good and meant kids could be put to bed earlier.

AustraliaLack of hanging space and flat surfaces to put items down. There are hangers in the entry, great for coats, but that's it. Some more hooks or hangers in the bedroom would be great. A washing machine is fantastic, but needs somewhere to hang washing to dry. But these are minor issues, in general, good location and very comfortable.
Good location near the historical quarter. Kitchenette and washing machine are very handy.

United StatesWonderful stay but didn't have a washing machine...not all rooms have washers so be aware when booking if that's important to you. It appears that standard rooms do not have washers but Superior rooms do...read the details carefully.
We booked 3 rooms for 6 adults at the Grand Base Kurashiki Chuo. This is our first experience staying at a “hi tech” property with no human staff on site. The email that was sent a few days prior to arrival did not work for us as I could not upload our passports. Instead, we were able to do the self-check in process at the property. Once in your rooms, we were extremely pleased with the spaciousness and how spotless the units were. You will also find a computer screen fixed to the wall and this is where you will find all the instructions for items/appliances found in the unit. However, for example, there are diagrams on how to use the AC remote and the on-demand tankless hot water heater BUT the illustrations do not match the actual devices in the room so that was a bit of a challenge. The computer screen also gives an option to “text/chat” with an off-site hotel staff but the response was poor and it took a few hours after check in to get a response. Please note that we checked in during normal business hours so I felt the response should have been quicker. The biggest disappointment was that all 3 of our rooms did NOT have a washer machine as their website advertises on the opening page. I booked this property specifically to do laundry since we were mid-trip. I learned via the delayed chat that STANDARD rooms do not have a washing machine. I felt this was a bit of false advertising. Despite this, we still enjoyed our stay and I will still give a high rating but kindly request that management revise the website to clearly explain which rooms have a washing machine. Location wise, it’s a short 2 minute walk to a convenience store and an entrance to the Historic Bikan District.
