Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThe location is a bit far from centre Tokyo, but the dorm is only 4 minutes from Nishi-Kasai station so it’s convenient. The only caveat is you have to transfer a couple of times depending on where you’re going. I even had to transfer twice to go to Disneyland even though that’s quite close. The area around the hostel seemed pretty sketchy since there are a few bars and drunk people on the street. I was travelling alone and everything was okay, but maybe it’s better not to go out too late at night.
It feels more like a hotel than a hostel! Such an awesome place. Rooms and facilities are super clean. The beach lounge is so cool and comfortable. Staff are amazingly helpful :) I stayed in the female dorm and although the bed is capsule size, it’s bigger than any capsule hotel I’ve stayed at! It also has a curtain and not a shutter which I found to be better as it made the bed feel more roomy. Shared toilets are showers were also consistently kept very clean and they’re very close to the female dorms. They don’t replace towels daily but rental slippers and towels are very affordable, only 100 yen. The breakfast was served in bento boxes every morning and it was quite nice. Their cafe has some fun drinks too! Supremely great value for the price!

United StatesIt felt silly to have to rent some of the amenities like slippers and towels, when you could probably buy your own slippers at a convenience store for cheap.
The property was extremely clean and well-managed. The common area was relaxing and felt like a true reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. I enjoyed that it was in Edogawa, where the pace is a bit slower and manageable.

SwitzerlandVery clean and well-equipped, with spacious beds and a big trunk inside that comes with a lock too, to put away stuff safely. Lots of toilets and showers to use, so it never gets crowded. What I also love is the lounge, it also provides places with charging stations to use your devices and is overall well designed for relaxing and chilling time. The staff is also very friendly and always helpful.

AustraliaLocation wise, Nishi-Kasai is a way out from the major tourist attractions, which is the hotels only short-coming. It does take a fair while (about an hour) and a number of train changes to get into Shibuya/Shinjuku etc. Be conscious of this when planning your day. One thing I did note, as a solo-female traveller is the vast amount of hostess clubs that are found within the Nishi-Kasai area. It can be somewhat confronting to see burly men loitering around the front of the 'hostess bars', blacked-out and lining the street and women/ young girls soliciting clients on the streets. It did make my walk home somewhat uncomfortable as one must walk past these bars to get back to the hotel.
There are many things to like about Grand LDK located in Nishi-Kasai; the staff are friendly, informative and beyond willing to go out of their way to help if you find yourself in a pickle (as I did, when I misplaced my passport!). Facilities are clean and well thought-out; with a lovely 'beachside' reception/lobby area with bar that serves cocktails/mocktails for 500 yen (along with Takoyaki parties each Sunday, at least in the Summer!), a number of communal kitchen benches (with the basics available for guests i.e oil, salt and pepper, pots, pans, plates and cutlery), on-site laundry with washer/dryers, prayer room, smoking room and a repacking area/breakout area for guests. Shower room/toilet room is well-equipped (with shampoo, condition, face and body wash and hair dryer provided; toothbrush and toothpaste, combs, shavers and other assorted personal goods can be found at reception either for free or for a small fee) albeit, given that it's a hostel, at times busy and not well-kept, but that is on the calibre of the guest and not on the staff, cleaners or facility itself. Check-in and check-out is fairly seamless; simply use the portal downstairs with either your booking reference or personal details. You will be asked to scan your passport to verify your identity and, if you haven't already done so, for payment in cash or on card for the duration of your stay. Once payment has been verified, you will be provided a room key which will grant you access to most levels of the hotel, your room/dorm etc. Make sure to keep this with you at all times as if you leave it in your room by accident, you will need to go to reception, verify your identity, and be let in by a member of staff. There is on-site storage for luggage, which is great if you arrive before check-in or have a late night flight leaving Tokyo.

United Arab EmiratesAll my stay was incredible
I stayed with LDK in Osaka and Tokyo and I couldn’t have a better experience than this. I think is the best hostel around the world, base in my own experience. The staff is so kind, I arrive earlier than the check in time and they store my luggage and the procedure of check in and check out was so easy. The facilities are new, well maintained and clean.
