Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe AC blew on me during the night but I should have turned on the fan instead, as there were both provided.
The host is super friendly, welcoming, and loves to chat over dinner. We had great conversations. He's also very considerate and fun. We went to the Ushi-Oni festival in Uwajima, and he gave me a ride. He's very interesting and has many hobbies. It was a great time! The setting is beautiful.

JapanI booked a room last moment due to a change of plans, and I'm glad it turned out like that! The surrounding is magical, with lots of rice fields and old traditional houses. If you're lucky you might also be able to see fireflies at night! However, the best part of staying here was getting to know the host. Such an interesting lifestyle and definitely lot's of things to learn from him. I'd recommend the experience to everyone.

ChinaCute guesthouse in the shikoku countryside. The host is extremely friendly and fun to chat with. Breakfast and dinner are fantastic. It is difficult to get to without a car (only one train stop within walking distance, with limited service), but the host offers rides into town to the bigger train station (where one can catch a limited express back to a city).

BelgiumNothing. The house is not right along the henro trail, but it’s worth the little detour which can be made by train.
It was one of my best accomodations during my pilgrimage in Shikoku. The house is big and authentic, I had a spatious room for myself. We had an oishii dinner prepared by the very sympathic host. He showed me his atelier, very interesting and in the evening we had a nice conversation.

NorwayThe owner was super nice and his breakfast was amazing. But if you're not used to a futon, this might not be the place.

United StatesThe location is absolutely serene, surrounded by picturesque scenery that’s perfect for unwinding. The peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The host is an amazing person—friendly, welcoming, and full of great stories that add a special touch to the stay. It was a joy to chat with him and learn from his experiences. He truly goes above and beyond to make guests feel at home. I enjoyed every moment of my stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking for relaxation, beautiful surroundings, and top-notch hospitality. Can’t wait to come back again!

GermanyKatsu was an amazing Host. He showed me the good spots around Seiyo and even invited me over to bis friends house for a drink in the evening. The House is quite big and has a lot of comfortable places to enjoy the nature and the countryside. I recommend it to everybody who is in the area and is looking for a place to stay.

SpainSuch a beautiful space in a traditional Japanese house, renovated with beautiful details of African fabrics all over the house. We also had dinner(delicious vegan curry) and breakfast at the place, just contact the owner and he will prepare it for you. The view from the place is amazing btw!

JapanThe futon was a little hard, but it's a very quiet area so I was able to sleep. Truly the most difficult part is how isolated the location is. There's a tiny train station nearby that only had a local train stopping every hour.
The host is extremely friendly and will try to talk to you in English if you don't understand Japanese. He invited me to join him for breakfast and on one of the days, had some neighbours come over for a meal together. It is the Japanese countryside, so knowing Japanese is very helpful but the host really tries to make the experience enjoyable!

JapanIf you aren't driving or biking, I would recommend buying and bringing whatever food you need when you arrive as there aren't any supermarkets close by.
The owner is super friendly and helpful (we sat up late for a few nights having evening beers). The property is over a hundred years old apparently and it is beautiful. The kitchen has a lot of cooking utensils so you only need to bring the food you want to cook. The bathroom is very spacious and clean too!
