How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

there needs to be stairs made available. Elevators are no friend to freedom.

It’s excellent ! All in this hostel is as must to me. Very well placed , near of all the important things to see in Hiroshima. The staff is really kind, naturally kind ! All is clean and organized . Absolutely recommended !

I had a fantastic five-nights stay at Hiroshima Guest house Nice day, largely due to Mohamed, the manager. He was incredibly cooperative and kind, always ready to help. The hostel was spotless, and my stay was very comfortable. Mohamed's dedication and the hostel's high standards made my trip memorable. Highly recommended!

Nothing major, but not being able to come in as after 1am was a slight inconvenience, as I love to go jogging during the night, but otherwise everything was perfect
The location was great as everything is in walking distance, everything was exceptionally clean and the host was very friendly and helpful, the lounge area is nice and comfortable and is good to meet others and the guests were also all very nice.

Thank you so much for the amazing days I had here. The staff became a good friend by the end of my short stay and I really enjoyed my time in Hiroshima. He really makes this hostel feel welcoming and it's easy to make friends here. The separate room for women, the bathroom and the kitchen were also nice and clean. The rooms are nice and very silent. I hope I can come back, thank you so much again I wish you all the best.

Could have been a bit cooler in the women’s only bedroom, the standing AC unit was definitely necessary each night!
Muhammad was very kind and welcoming and super helpful when I wanted to leave my bags/dry my clothes after checkout. Very clean communal spaces, the bathrooms/toilets surpassed my expectations for a hostel for sure!

This is the potentially the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in. It is also the first truly sociable hostel I experienced in Japan. Muhammad is a lovely man who goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable & his care for the hostel is evident. Very good experience, highly recommend.

Water pressure in shower could have been better, and I wish shampoo and conditioner provided separate from soap, but it was super clean
Great facilities, nice clean rooms, clean hangout, quiet, very very safe, great location, and staff was super friendly. He gave me amazing suggestions for my travels based on the time I had :)

The Host of facility is a remarkable person. He ensures that visitors feel like home and also guides them for tourist places around Hiroshima. Kudos to the team at hostel. Recommended.

You have to extra for a personal locker. Facilities are ok, not as great as other hostels though, but still fine for the price.
It's cheap for a Japanese hostel, so that's good. Beds are ok, bathroom is clean. Staff was very friendly, common area was good to socialize if you want to.

Their luggage storing area is very limited which only became difficult when fully booked. Only bad if it is busy.
Muhammed was very nice and helpful during my stay. They also offer a free drink at an Indian restaurant nearby I highly recommend checking it out the food was delicious!

People come and go and big dormitory is less personal.
