Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing.
The host was very friendly and showed me around. The sleeping area and amenities were all on the ground floor, which was a pleasant surprise for weary legs. Free towels for the shower and a jar of tea bags were the cherry on top.

The bed in the dorm was a little stiff.
I liked how modern the place was. The showers, sinks, and toilet were all amazing. The bar/kitchen area was also very nice. The staff was also very kind and funny. The area is also great if you like Izakayas.

Everything was very clean, and the room very accessible and tidy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and had a good coffee selection. The person at reception was very friendly, and very accommodating when we needed to check in late or store our bags after checking out. The hostel is in a very lively location, and close to the main bus and train stops!

Situated right next to an izakaya which closes at 1am. Moderate noise, cancelled out with earbuds but still got woken up a few times. Heavy footsteps within the building woke me up too.
Location is very good and convenient. Walkable distance to shopping arcade and kochi main station. Lots of izakaya and yatai around the immediate area. Extremely close to Sunday Market and the hirome market. Bed was clean and comfortable. Communal areaa like shower/basins/kitchenette/dining area were clean and well thought out.

The outer entry door was so narrow, I had to back out and remove my pack, pass pack through door and then go through. It is a double wide door but the other half fixed in place. Getting in and out was a bit awkward.
Location was very convenient. Loved the kitchen and common area. The host was awesome!

Nothing really, thought their gate was inconspicuous and a little small but this is just nitpicking
Location is quite in the middle of Kochi Station and Kochi Castle, you can walk to both places. Staff was friendly. Would love to stay a few more days next time.

There was some noise at nights as it’s right by a restaurant, but this is only an issue on weekends and holidays I imagine. The owner gives us a complimentary pair of earbuds and I slept comfortably.
Very clean, great facilities and good provision of anything you might need for a comfortable stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the beds and public spaces are well kept. The location is very good too, within walking distance of downtown areas and Hirome Market. The dorm beds were actual mattresses, so they were very comfortable, and the bunks came with many sockets and accessories (fan, light, clothes line, tissues). It’s a refurbished house, so it felt very cozy. It was comfortable and I enjoyed talking to other guests and the owner. It was a superb stay, one of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed at! Thank you!

As everyone else has mentioned, it's a bit noisy outside at night, but ear plugs are provided
Friendly manager and people, pleasant decor/ atmosphere, generally clean! Towels and soap provided, paid laundry available. Very close to the sunday market, and a konbini just around the corner.

The front entrance may be difficult to find for first-timers. However, once you know its location, it feels like a secret hideout.
Extremely close to the Sunday Market, with several restaurants and takeout options nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Being able to snuggle in warm electric blankets on cold nights was a bonus. Highly recommend!
