Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCan't really think of anything.
I absolutely loved this place! I spent 4 nights at EN Guesthouse, so that I could enjoy a few fairly inexpensive days skiing at Rusutsu. It was perfect - especially so for a solo traveller, as I was on this trip. Just 3 minutes walk from the bus stop where you take the local bus for less.than £1 sterling equivalent and a 5 minute bus ride to the centre of the resort. A well-equipped kitchen also meant you could prepare your own food, with a couple of well-stocked convenience stores nearby. Great people running the place too; Remi and her partner were.really helpful - wishing them both really good luck with everything.

AustraliaLocation is not ideal for accessing the ski resort. Public bus is adequate but infrequent, and distance is too far to walk with ski gear.
Very comfortable budget-friendly accommodation in Rusutsu village. Staff are kind and friendly. Convenience stores are located nearby for basic groceries, and the accommodation has a well-equiped kitchen.

New ZealandThe heater was hard to figure out. The kitchen was unstaffed so clean it yourself. No drying rack so if your gear is wet, be prepared.
A little ways from the ski resort. Great if you have a car.

CanadaThe rooms are not very sound proof - compared to hotel rooms.
3 minutes drive from ski slope beats everything else. The house is warm, clean and comfortable. It's really nice used as a skiing base. Kitchen is a bit old but we didn't make dishes. Highly recommend the near-by Westin Hotel breakfast buffet, which is a bargain in year 2024.

CanadaThere were only two shared showers in the building and only one of them have an area that you can lock outside the actual shower room for you to put on your clothes. Not too sure how people use the other shower. There was also no drying machine.
Got picked up and dropped off at Rusutsu Hotel Convention. The bus stop was 2 min walk away. Great value for the price and good alternative to the crazy expensive resort hotels.

AustraliaThe pillows are awful, the refrigerator needs to be bigger, the young Japanese girl who lives there is quite loud in the evening. Being a Japanese building, one can hear people in the adjacent room.

AustraliaThe walls of the rooms are quite thin and you can hear the people in the adjoining rooms. There are very few local options for dining.
it was well located near to Rusutsu ski fields and was good value for money. It had a kitchen facility where you could make meals if you wished and also hot beverages. The beds are quite comfortable and there are adjustable heaters in the room, with the air temperatures in the resort as a whole quite warm. There is a local bus service close by which runs to the ski fields. The lady from the resort organised to come and pick me up from the connecting bus from Chitose airport when it stopped at the Resort.

AustraliaStrong exhaust fumes from the kerosene heating. After the first night we stopped using the heat. Only one restaurant was open within walking distance.
Super relaxed atmosphere. Perfect place for those focused on the snow. Great communication online with the manager. Great facilities for cooking or heating up a meal. Appreciated the pickup and drop off at the resort on arrival and departure. Great location if you have a car or are willing to take the bus. We took the bus to/from the resort each day and it worked out well. The bus stop is so close and convenient to Guesthouse EN. Only challenge was timing since the bus is hourly at peak times.

AustraliaEN kitchen needs a good or at least daily surface clean on benches cooking areas. The compost bin needs to be emptied daily if guest are staying same with rubbish bins. The dining room could do with a daily or other day vacuum , service dust and clean . Needs a couch or some comfy chairs for guest to relax in the main dining area. The bus resort timetable is out of date ( needs updating along with more guest info about where to buy groceries and where to eat) The local bus to resort is limited in its daily trips to and fro. Anna was happy to communicate if you needed help. Upon arrival there is no info either about who the manager is (just a number to ring.) No one checks to see if everything is ok once you do book in. The young guy who does the shuttle pick up was not friendly or helpful at all. The place is old, heating is kerosene, so if your sensitive to the smell..can be strong smelling. my sons room smelt of mould..this accommodation is .kind of reminencent of a 90's backpackers .in condition . If they offered a ski shuttle for groups or individuals staying this would make up for other areas where it lacks. If you have to stay here recommend a car . And be prepared for a step back in time to the 90s. However Bathrooms and Bedrooms were clean..unlike the 90s.
Being able to self cater and shuttle on arrival and departure but apparently they only shuttle after 8 am. But we had a bus to catch earlier when vacating (which I had booked not knowing there was a time slot for shuttle service.) However once I explained They were fine about dropping us there.
