Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA few spiders and no towels which would’ve been useful for people travelling light!
Easy access without human interaction😁the property was small but clean and had all the essentials for a traveller including fridge, kitchen, microwave, shower and toilet. Shampoo & conditioner were provided which was a nice touch. Rooms were small but were air conditioned and clean bedding was provided. Curtains kept the room dark and each bed had their own bedside light so as to not disturb other guests.

GermanyIt was really cold! I tried to get the heater on and in the living room it worked but not in the bedroom. There were enough blankets so it was fine laying in bed but as soon as I got up it was feezing…
I had the whole room for myself, but they said there would be another person. Which really confused me and it felt like I was waiting for someone to show up. But the room and kitchen and stuff were very clean and nice.

Philippineshad a bit of a challenge checking in since the owner won’t meet with you. we need to call first and talk with our minimal japanese before we can understand the process of getting inside. also adding the fact that the unit is in the third floor and we just came from cycling biwako. It might help if they can provide a step by step process beforehand since it is technically a self-checkin type of a property.
very spacious since there are only 2 of us. could fit 6-10 more pax. The tatami bedroom is quite comfortable for us. there’s also an izakaya place in the first floor of the building with other nearby restaurants and konbinis.

United KingdomI loved this place. It was so clean and quiet and the manager couldn't have been more helpful . A real pleasure to work with . Transport links into Kyoto were pretty good too with 20-30 trains every few minutes. Kitchen well stocked , washing machine and even provided a free parking space for my scooter. And best of all a lovely , comfy bed .

AustraliaA lot. 1. We booked a family room solely for our use (as advertised). Around when we arrived we were messaged that there's a change & we'd now have single rooms - we still thought were solely for us, incl bathroom. The apartment was part storeroom with stuff everywhere, rather than "family room" but we just thought that's how it was. The "bedrooms" were separated by partitions. 2. We went for a walk & took the door key with us. When we returned there's another family in our room & our belongings had been stacked in the living room. They were let in by host/owner who decided to put us into a shared dormitory, toilet, bathroom without letting us know or offering discount. 3. The other family were also confused & kindly phoned the host who came to explain the situation, including that we're now expected to share the space. 4. We explained we'd be moving out the next night as the room was unacceptable. The host offered partial discount after we complained (no other room available). 20min later host returned & advised we could move to another room. On inspection the 2nd room was more like what we thought we'd originally booked - we accepted partial refund & moved into this second room. 5. Host stopped replying to messages on last day. 6. The Advert photos & info don't represent the actual property. These things were advertised, but not provided: - The room is different to photos. - No smoke alarm (It's a break the glass & push button fire alarm on the stairs.) - No key card access, it's a key box. - No Thermometer (we didn't want one, but don't advertise if it's not there) - The "lockers" in shared room require you to provide your own lock. - No daily housekeeping & only some rooms have a washing machine. - The host speaks barely any English.
The town was nice. Waterfront is pretty with water fountains at times with colours at night. Nearby places to walk in park, etc. The second room we were moved to was more like what was advertised.

JapanSmelly, allergy triggering because of the carpet and uncleaned bed set. The shower burns when water suddenly gets weak and then after it comes back to normal, it comes really hot that it burns. It’s really stinky specially in the bathroom.

Portugalit was ok for one night. it'd been fine for a couple more nights too. it's self check in and there are instructions on how to open the door but I felt that maybe an initial explanation was needed like where the remote for the ac, the password for the wifi, etc. The host came later though and left quickly. it was generally clean.

JapanThe common room is really small, and I don't understand how it is possible to sell it for up to six people. In some beds, you can't isolate yourself from the light of the room (that is to say, there is a light just over your bed...). The beds aren't comfortable at all, they are just a piece of wood with the cheapest futon possible (5cm high at most). So don't expect a comfy bed! The restaurant below the men dormitory makes noise until midnight. It's a problem for people with sleeping trouble.
Fortunately, I was alone in the guest house so I haven't to deal with other people. For my purpose, the location was good. The showers are nice, but they don't provide towels (so be aware of this).
