My little room, a partition of living and shower/toilet space had a window with a little japanese garden.

The noisiest and most expensive hostel I have encountered throughout my Japan trip. The 8.9 marked in Booking. com is far from today's reality. I honestly start losing my trustworthiness in Booking.com's rating criteria. They organised dinner parties in the small living area, right next to my room which was divided by a thin wall. 15 people shared 1 shower for each gender as well as 1 toilet for each gender only. Every step from the upper floor could be heard in my room. No isolation in the entire house. Not recommendable to tourists sensitive to noise.

The staff is extremely friendly, willing to share points of views, the food is great, the atmosphere welcoming, the beds comfy. Probably the best accommodation of our stay in Japan !

warm and friendly staff and cozy space, lively atmosphere at night! great if you want to make friends during your stay.

lights off at 11pm as the guesthouse is in a residential area; people who like to stay out late may find it inconvenient.

Masaki-San, his family and staff were exceptional hosts. They ran the guesthouse in a way that made it very easy to meet other guests, no matter where they were from. The dinners provided were lovely, and morning stretches followed by breakfast was a great way to start the day.

Quiet hours starting at 23:00 was my only issue. But that is because this guesthouse made me want to talk all night long. Which is definitely not a negative.

Hosts were very hospitable, I enjoyed passing time chatting at the living area. They sold home made umeshu that was delicious. With some of the other guests, one that could play guitar, we had a pretty fun karaoke session.

It was probably as good as you couldve hoped for for a guest house stay.

The host is a wonderful man and offered a delicious dinner for JPY 1000! As he is a former cook, it was really delicious! It was also nice to have a common space to share with the other guests and share our experiences, and have some social interaction in general. The woodwork in the rooms - such as the beds - were also made by the host himself and is really top-notch!

I had a little trouble sleeping on the mattresses, which are harder than what I was used to, but the fact each bed is like a capsule with heavy curtains meant it was dark and quiet, which helped a lot!

Very warm atmosphere in Umebachi, we played kendama with their daughter, drank sake togetgher and went on a night walk togther. It felt like I was in a small family for a bit. I met with an amazing guy from Taiwan that I met again in Tokyo a few weeks later cause we had kept contact. The personel was very patient and keen on speaking either english/japanese. Really enjoyed my short stay there

The only thing I could say I appreciated less was that it was not long enough. The house was lovely and the people gave good advice. I did have heavy luggages so coming from the station was a bit tougher as there is a short metro ride and a bit of walking but all and all it was nice stay. A bit further from the center than I expected but that was alright.
