Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Taiwan1. There's almost no information upon check-in, so you have to figure it out on your own.
1. Affordable. 2. The living room has tourist information, a dining area, tatami mats, and a kettle. 3. The tram station is nearby, very convenient.

JapanTop bunk beds curtains don’t reach the ceiling so you are bothered by the lights and curtains are see basically through so not very private.
Good location, clean and cheap. Female only floor was pretty secure. Common place was nice with free coffee and tea.

JapanThe common area was always full as people slept on the tatami floors which I don’t think should be allowed. The combination of dozens of shoes (the racks were between the reception and common area) and people eating smelly foods created a foul smell that had nowhere to go as there were no windows inside the common area for ventilation. The smell was so bad it was unbearable to stay inside, even it you could find space. The curtains of the beds were entirely see through offering no privacy.
The property is located in walking distance to main spots, and offers a large common area, showers and toilets inside the female dorm, which was very convenient as you don’t have to go to another floor in the middle of the night to use the WC. Our dorm had 4 showers and 3 toilets, 3 vanity mirrors and sinks with blow dryers. We also had our own washing machine and dryer. The common area had 2 sofas, tatami floors with pillows, and multiple tables, as well as vending machines and small kitchenette.

AustraliaNothing to point out.
First of all the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Secondly the location itself gives it a 10/10 as you are not too far from the airport, and it’s a good base location. It never felt messy or dirty, and the facility was always kept clean which is a bonus.

ItalyI found the hostel amazing. The place os very clean and since you're not allowed to use your shoes inside they provide clean slippers for the whole stay. The only downside are the curtains: when the night light of the bed is on you can see everything on the bed. If they could replace it with more covering ones it would be perfect. The staff was always nice and available when I asked for some extra stuff (like an iron and iron board). The location is perfect, close to Kukosaidori Street and monorail stop so it's easy to reach further places incuding the airport. I will deginately consider it again for future stays.

JapanAs usual, it's hard to find a place to put bags. It's not hostel's fault, but there are a guest who do strength training in the common areas, which is dangerous and disturbing. I wish they would put up a sign saying "Strength training prohibited."
Compared to my last stay, room was much neater and not littered with guests' personal belongings. Other points: Prices in the vending machines are still reasonable.

United KingdomQuite big with a lot of people staying but conversation was minimal between us so it felt a little odd in the shared area. This isn’t a complaint as I would rather it be quiet than noisy and I got used to this by the second day- it’s just an observation
Well organised and clean Very nice bathroom (ofuro room) off the ladies dorm as well as 3 showers. Nice relaxing area and shared kitchen area with free tea and coffee I hired a bike which was good if a little on the heavy side. It was within walking distance of the ferry port and close to a bus stop for the airport bus too
