Great stay in Onomichi! The hostel was clean, cozy, and very convenient, perfectly located for getting around and exploring the area. I only wish we had more time to stay an extra night or two.

Shower needs some modernisation and small cupboard or shelf to put your things not to get wet. Needs a proper sink in the toilet room (sink is a tap on the flushing)

Only 1 toilet and 1 shower for the hostel. Check in time feels late at 5pm.

The host is a nice, chill guy. The location is fantastic and the house / hostel has been done up in a very unique way. I stayed in the loft with the two single beds and it was very quiet and comfortable.

Some guests was talking quite loudly even though it was already late at night. Luckily, I had my ear plugs with me.

Yadocurly Guesthouse is tucked just off the Onomichi Hondori Shopping Street (尾道商店街), accessible via a small side alley. The area is lined with charming, independent shops and unique eateries, making it a delightful place to explore. The guesthouse has an rustic, old-world charm feel to it. While the facility has only one shower and one toilet, I was fortunate not to experience any wait times during my stay. Onomichi is a beautiful coastal town, and I wanted to spend a full day discovering its sights before setting off on the Shimanami Kaido cycling route the next morning. Yadocurly Guesthouse met my needs perfectly and provided a cozy, convenient base for my adventure.

The shower did not drain very fast and the decor is a little dated, but to be expected for the good price.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the cooking class was supurb and a recommendation.

The bathroom has no sink for washing face and brushing teeth. We used the sink in the kitchen.

Guesthouse is very basic with bathroom and shower meeting bare minimum but the room was great and we slept very well. Good for one night stop

Hiro, the host, was super nice and we got good recommendations. The house is old and has character. It is very central, close to the water, close to the station and bike station.

Near the Onomichi station just 5mins walking. Cozy place, good for bagpacking and prepare to go for a ride in Shimanami Kaido. Have a breakfast set meal shop nearby that I really love (the saba set is so good).

The house is rustic, which I liked. Narrow staircase to get to the rooms, difficult to bring luggage up. Bathroom and shower are downstairs while sink is upstairs in the kitchen.

Hiro was excellent and incredibly helpful. Bed was cozy and warm with extra thick comforter. House is rustic and charming, old wood and sliding doors. Really good location, near several bike rentals, the bus stop, and the JR station. Also willing to hold luggage even after stay while riding the Shimanami Kaido!

I am occasionally bonking my head because the building is quite small with narrow hallways and ceilings. But I am a larger person so this is to be expected.

Check-in was smooth and easy. The facilities are quaint and cute.

If you wanted to sell catering it would be difficult. The shower room was a bit tatty, but functional. On the whole however we loved our stay here and would visit again.

A quirky old character building overlooking the harbour, a cosy room at the front of the hostel provided a great view of a gentle pace harbour life. The finishes inside the building are basic but functional. The hostel kitchen does not have much in the way of cooking implementations, plates, mugs etc. However the Hostel also runs a community kitchen on the ground floor next to the Hostel. We had one of our best evenings in Japan here. The idea is that he aims to keep alive a tradition started after ww2 when there was extreme hardship and illness in the area. Instead of each home having a kitchen there were community kitchens. A large metal plate is heated up and food like Hiroshima Okonomiyaki was prepared. Our host gave us a cooking demonstration and then we cooked food for three local people who had popped in. The small charge for the cooking lesson was very good value. We rented bikes and cycled the Onomichi trail, a great experience. Did the 75km route and caught the bus back. Well worth the cheap bike rent fee, the bus fare back was almost as much!

Quite a compact space, to the extent that getting my backpack up the stairs was a bit of a struggle. Only one toilet and shower, which could pose problems given that most people travelling to onomichi will have very similar itineraries. No lockers or security boxes for valuables is a concern.

Manager was very helpful in recommending dinner options within walking distance and was able to answer questions I had about the practicalities of my plans for the shimanami kaido the next day. Bed was comfortable and 4 to a dorm is completely reasonable.

Only one shower and toilet. Had to wait a couple times but otherwise not too bad.

Good location, very close to the station and shops. Friendly staff nearby to help. Room was comfy.
