Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGreat lodge close to bus shuttle stops and Jah Jah convenience store. Restaurant attached with very tasty food. Laundry, ski drying room, and even a private (1 person) onsen on-site. Chika and the rest of the staff are excellent (and can speak English). They will also help you out with discounted lift passes.

United StatesI could go on about what I liked during my stay, but I gotta say—the coziness of the upstairs is unbeatable. Access to a large, clean kitchen, a huge living room, and a massage chair that was essential for post-ski relaxation. The location is prime—you’re one street away from Echo Land, surrounded by great restaurants, and perfectly situated for shuttle rides to Happo One and 47. We’re beyond happy with our stay here! Major shoutout to Chika, an awesome host. She picked us up at the bus stop when we arrived and couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. Highly recommend this place without a doubt!

AustraliaCommunal bathrooms were cold and not cleaned regularly enough. But everything else was great!
Great spot to stay in Hakuba! Very central location, cosy, comfy rooms and super helpful staff. We loved that there was a small kitchenette to heat up meals or have breakfast. Chika (manager) was amazing! Very helpful and offered suggestions and advice about transport and dining options. The in house restaurant is also great.

Everything about this place was excellent. Nearby places to eat with a Udon restaurant on site. Ski buses straight out the front and a short walk into Echoland eating and drinking strip. All staff very helpful and lovely to deal with. Highly recommend this place to stay. Thank you for having me ❤️

AustraliaProperty was a fantastic location with great clean facilities. We stayed as a group of 6 for a ski trip and the room was very comfortable, clean and warm. Chika was fantastic. She helped us with everything from restaurant bookings, to shuttle services, to transport to our next location. Incredibly friendly. Would recommend anybody to stay here for their ski holiday! Great value.

AustraliaBroccoli on the 'English' breakfast was a cultural faux-pas. As with all Japanese hotels, toilet paper so diaphanous that you have to peel.offtwo metres to get a decent pad.
A wonderful hostess; so helpful to we foreigners with no language skills. Very quiet location but only a few .minutes walk to the main street of Echoland, for eateries, if you want a change from the hotels excellent udons. All was there that was necessary for our week of skiing and it is well located for buses to the various centres. A nice building, all timber and well heated.

AustraliaShuttle pick ups to and from bus station and supermarket were not always flexible. Onsen was just a big hot bath that had water circulating around it, water didn’t get changed between people so didn’t really seem hygienic.
Staff were very helpful. Bought ski passes through them as they provided a discount. Kitchen facilities to heat up own food. Close to shuttle bus stops for ski slopes.

AustraliaBathroom size: Very tiny and there were issues getting hot water in our bathroom for hot showers when it's shower peak time at the inn. The communal shower doesn't seem to have that issue though. Soundproofing: The inn has a quiet policy from 10pm onwards, however your peace & quiet time still depend on the other guests. We can hear people walking and talking clearly, as the communal sinks are located right outside our room. I had to tell some guests to keep their noise down when they were still talking and laughing loudly close to midnight. Inn Restaurant: A little pricey for the portion size.
Location: A short walk to Echoland where the eateries, convenience store and ski shuttle pick ups are. Tsugaike and Happo One shuttle pick up is less than 10 mins walk, Iimori/Goryu/Hakuba47 shuttle pick up is right outside the Inn. Size: The family room has 2 separate bedrooms with an ensuite and is quite large for Japan standard. Cleanliness: Very clean. Staff: Chika was very helpful and friendly. She picked us up and dropped us off from and to the Hakuba train station. Ski passes: Getting passes for Happo One and Iimori/Goryu/Hakuba47 resorts from the Inn is cheaper. Amenities: Laundry is available for small change, hot tubs and drying room. We couldn't get any restaurant reservations, so the kitchen was very useful when we had to heat/cook stuff from the convenience store. Overall: It's a cozy inn with sufficient amenities that you need after a long day on the slopes.

AustraliaIt was a while away from the lift but that wasn’t so bad, we were grateful not to miss the last shuttle.
Chika made the stay so great. She looked after us from the moment we arrived and helped with everything from lifts and food to transport. Also, the best French toast I’ve ever had!

AustraliaHotel Meteor feels very cosy and homely, with a lovely laid back and welcoming vibe. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of recommendations for Hakuba and the various ski resorts. The on site restaurant serves delicious food and is very convenient. JapanThe mattresses weren't that comfortable. As with most Japanese buildings, it was not very sound proof and so we could easily hear other people's conversations in the next room or even from other parts of the building.
Wonderful staff who were helpful, friendly, and informative. There is a small cozy restaurant attached so that we didn't have to walk elsewhere in the cold to find food after a tiring day on the slopes. The food was delicious.
