Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe room was a bit dated and the toilet space was so confined, our knees were pushed into the wall when we used it. The shower space in the room was also tiny, but I guess most people use the indoor or outdoor onsen.
The highlights for us were definitely the view and the breakfast experience. It was super peaceful and we loved watching the sunset and the stars come out, all from the comfort of our couch!

FranceThey should let customers know that the restaurant requires reservations well in advance as it is a bit isolated. But the staff was extremely helpful at driving us to a great restaurant and back.
Very pleasant hotel with a nice open air onsen. Super helpful and friendly staff. We had a large room with a great view.

CanadaThe hotel is a bit dated in some areas. They were also not able to accommodate vegetarian dinner requests. The pool was closed (April) and this should be clearly stated prior to booking. Guests with tattoos are not permitted to use public bath and the pool. This is a cultural sensitivity in Japan and needs to be respected.
This is a clean and comfortable hotel. My room was larger than usual, with a spectacular view. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and the free shuttle from Kii Katsuura station is also handy.

Such a lovely hotel with wonderful staff. The views from the hotel are great, we had a sea view room. We asked for help with a dinner reservation and the hotel found us a fantastic and friendly local restaurant (great tempura!) and also drove us there and back. Also a mention for the outdoor onsen, one of the best we’ve been to. We stayed here 1 night after a day in Hongu and Nachi, it’s a great place to stay close to Nachi. Great value for money too.

AustraliaThe hotel is isolated from public transport, we spent extra 2000Y on a taxi to Kii-Katsuura more than once. The place mostly services tour bus groups, the restaurant was booked out and we had nowhere to eat after arriving late.
The room was huge, the staff were really helpful.

AustraliaSmelt like cigarettes in hallway. Outdated decor. Restaurant breakfast was not good. Coffee and tea was terrible. Over looked a dolphin park, being a western more animal welfare focused mindset it was terrible to see these animals in their tiny enclosures. The place should be shut down...just mind blown these things still exist in the world today. The area didn't have much to do as we were here in autumn so couldn't swim. The old go kart course needs to be cleared away..felt like we were in a zombie acropolis.
The view from windows was good.

United KingdomAfter a long journey to the hotel, we were told that no booking received by the hotel, despite my confirmation that it was paid. Manager / receptionist did not speak much English do for 40 min , my heart was racing worrying where do we go in the middle of the night and then trying to get a refund from booking . I had to show the card I paid for and confirmation. Then after 40 min manager agreed to the room after being unable to get hold of booking.com. Next morning they just told us : sorry was our fault. Did not even offered a drink or dinner or anything to compensate for their error. Breakfast , although , pretending to be posh , was very small and we had saw people looking at the menu as it wasn’t feeling . On top of it , we didn’t do any research about the area beforehand , but it turned out to be a dolphin slaughtering bay. it had a dad feeling . And one more no restaurants nearby … a bit stuck …. wouldn’t come back to this hotel - way to expensive for the service.
Was underwhelmed
