the izakaya downstairs had great food. Everybody seems to know everybody. i only stayed for the food and water because I don’t drink and because it’s hard to find other places to eat nearby. The place was in a residential street.

The bathroom is outside of the building. Their was a sign to the building that says Guesthouse Hikari (very nice, new sliding door), which turned out to be the entrance to the izakaya. It was locked and nobody was around. At 5 pm, a woman motions for me to follow her. She led me to the door past coolers on the outside into a small, cramped table inside with the door to the kitchen of the izakaya on the right and a staircase on the left that takes you the upstairs bedrooms, 5 I think. The bathroom is upstairs. It has urinals before you get to the small toilet stall. There is a small table with water boiler, paper cups, and packets of coffee/tea next to a microwave. Across that is a sink with a mirror and toiletries. You sleep on tatami floor meant for a group with a table for 4 and a small tv. The blanket, comforter, and pillow felt wet to the touch. There are no windows, no insulation. You can hear noises from the izakaya and some other noises in and outside the building till late at night. It was hard to sleep and very uncomfortable. There was a group of noisy men across my room. Hallway is narrow.Smell and cleanliness were a problem. This place should maybe for transient MALES ONLY. Even staying one night was awful. I had to cut my stay short. Definitely not for women! I do not recommend this place at all for lodging. Dine at the izakaya, but do NOT stay for lodging.

Photo shown not realistic. Room established on top of restaurant leading to risk.

Food stuff partially occupy the door entrance space
