Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeI wouldn't say didn't like, but be aware that the hostel does not have any elevators! Our private room was on the top floor and the stairs were quite steep. The staff were really nice to carry our luggages up (and down, but we did it on our own), but please be kind, especially if your luggages are heavy.
Our private room was amazing. The beds were comfy, the AC was great especially in the middle of summer. The toilets were generally clean - it was unclean due to inconsiderate guests, but this isn't the fault of the hostel, honestly! Do note that only exit 2b has elevators and that exit is not linked to the Ginza line.

Czech RepublicInteresting people, it’s a small hostel but very well thought out with great stuff. It’s a more personal experience compared to other hostels, I met some great people while I stayed there.

United StatesThe ceiling for the living room lounge is extremely short for a tall person such as myself. However, I also loved this area because there was also a large rug area that was designated as the meditation/yoga/prayer space. But whenever I would move into a Warrior 1 or 2 position, my head would be touching the ceiling lol. But it’s all good. You can still do a yoga session regardless.
The location! And the staff. And I also liked how small and cozy the hostel is. The location is perfect! Right next to the river, and by so many restaurants and tourist attractions. However, this hostel is on a quiets street over from the busy, bustling street of Akusa, so you actually don’t have to worry about any noise! And there’s also the rooftop that has a great view of the river and surrounding city. It’s both relaxing and beautiful to stare at.

United KingdomBathrooms are not temp controlled, so as soon as you are out of the room, you are sweating. Compared to other parts of the country, in Tokyo you pay more for less.
Location, staff and was clean.

SingaporeHostel is very conveniently located near the station, and within walking distance to many eateries! The bed was comfy in spacious pods, and the toilets are really clean too. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a pop by their bar for their beer as well if you're back from exploring Tokyo before 10pm.

United StatesShoes are to be taken off but they are kept inside the room. The problem here is that many smell and it’s inside the room, instead of outside.
I had a very nice stay here. Nice bathrooms. Nice rooftop. Great location. Friendly owners.

New ZealandThe mattresses are a little thin, and there are narrow stairs which some people might find a challenge.
This was my third stay at Chapter Two. The owner personally thanked me for coming back. The breakfasts are simple and delicious, and always work out cheaper than a combini meal. The location is difficult to beat, something like a 3-minute walk to either the Ginza line or the Asakusa line, about 4 minutes to the Asakusa Ferry. So many major landmarks, all so close.

United StatesIf you’re a light sleeper it might be hard to sleep with the other guest around. It was windy one night and the window kept making noise as well.
The location of the hostel was good. In a quiet street with walkable distance to places I wanted to visit. I never had to wait to use the shower or bathroom.

NetherlandsThe pods are less cozy than it seems on the pictures. I'd suggest improving the insides like adding a small reading light, changing wall finishing to something more appealing. But overall they're fine.
Friendly staff, great and strategic location next to Asakusa station with lots of restaurants and shops. It's a relatively small hostel, which I liked. Very clean! I stayed at a mixed dorm, with a shower on the same floor it felt convenient.
