Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CroatiaDue to small space it's difficult to unpack a bag. As others mentioned, not enough toilets or showers when the place is full.
To sum up, you get what you pay for. It is a good place for a short stay, to drop off your luggage and rest for few hours after a night out. Definitely pick another spot if you'll spend more than one night. Even though it's cramped, beds were surprisingly comfortable, there was USB charger and it was quiet.

PortugalThere is a single room for too many people, the beds are noise with little sound isolation between them when comparing to other hostels. I don’t think they should advertise female room, as it is the same room, just around the corner without any door in between. I don’t think several women looking for privacy and woman only rooms would consider this a good hostel.
The property is nice and well located. Relatively close distance walking from several places. The host is nice and has a great English level.

JapanIt's the crampiness of the facilities mainly. You sharing a building with 30 people pathway is narrow. It doesn't help when suitcases especially big one are constantly in the way. They lacked ample storage space and lockers for valuables. Changing clothes and taking a bath it bit challenging when your in a co-ed (male+female) dorm. I think we only had two showers ...One shower was clogged or malfunctioning. There wasn't a dry rug in the shower. When someone shuffling in their bed, you can hear them. Another issue was secretary language barrier she came off as if she was playing incompentence. It seemed that way because her accent, in my opinion, did not sound like typical japanese accent. Seem like a nice passive person but could be cohert passive aggressive too. But lastly, I don't think my bedding was changed before I got there. I did not like seeing older blood stains on my privacy curtain and a hair that wasnt mine on the bed sheets. I request the next day for my bedding to be replaced via booking. It wasn't replaced for some reason. I was only there for two days it did damper my attitude their cleaniness.
It was ok- if you plan to travel most of day and just need a place to sleep this is what it is. I was able to book this hostel last minute due to a change in my original accommadation plans. It clean enough, didn't have a problem with bugs in my sleepinf area. If there was cleaned it up. I was able to take shower mainly later at night or plan for an onsen. Pretty much safe. The neighborhood seem cool.

United KingdomI would say it’s very pricey for what it is (9,000 yen for two nights), whilst i’ve had cheaper accommodation which involved an entire room to myself in Tokyo.
You have a pod and that is your bed and bedroom, with about 20-30 other people in similar pods above or to the side of you. It was cosy and a good way to meet new people. Also it was very clean and the staff are lovely.

TaiwanThe room is very small considering the amount people in there…. There is no enough space for you to open up the luggage. The bathroom is quite dirty… overall is very like a “casual vibe” if you know what I mean
The location is close to the Tokyo sky tree, you can see the view. There is also a public bath nearby, definitely recommend that you go to the public bath for the experience

SpainCan't checking before 3PM (which is fair), but there is no reception active either, so if you get there with your luggages hoping to drop them of, you're out of luck. Would be nice to at least have on the door some directions to the closest storage lockers so not to leave people out there with luggages.
Quick check-in, no need to properly checkout hence it's easy to sneak away in the morning while other travelers are still asleep.

United KingdomThe hostel itself was decent enough. I only stayed from 11pm until 5am the following day, so as a place to get a few hours sleep it was fine for me. Just remember, people are always coming and going and making noise in the night in hostels.
The hostel was clean. The bedsheets were clean. The bed was comfortable. It's a short walk to Ueno station.

GermanyIt was a bit difficult climbing the higher beds silently, because the ladders were a bit noisy. I did miss mirrors in the small bathrooms but there were ones in the bigger bathroom. The bins were pretty small so they were overflowing quickly, but it was not really bad.
I really liked the bed, it was really comfy. The lounge was perfect for meeting new people and working a bit. The staff was really friendly and helpful!

AustraliaMy only dislike was the inability to drop luggage off, as I arrived in tokyo around midday and couldn't leave my bags anywhere. It was Chinese New Year so all the station lockers where full. Everything else was perfect!

JapanThe favorable location might be the reason. The dormitory is compact, lacking sufficient washing space. Consider placing perfume in the bathroom as an alternative.
