Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaRoom was so dusty at check in that we actually wiped down surfaces ourselves to feel clean. Bed for 2 people is basically a single bed. Extremely small room even by Japanese standards. On-site dryer took 2.5 hours to dry clothes.
Close to train station and friendly staff.

NorwayIt was advertised as Shinjuku, but it was in fact to stations away from Shijnuku. The staff could in no way have a conversation in English, they were entirely unhelpful. Couldn't lend an extra pillow, couldn't fix the bidet that was not working, couldn't help order a taxi or get a number for a taxi to the airport. Dirty room, mold, dust, stains, smells. Extremely small room, very hard and uncomfortable bed. Didn't answer the phone or messages I sent regarding arriving late due to delays on the plane. Overcharged for a potentially lost room keycard. Only received one room keycard. The breakfast we paid for was not at the hotel but was a voucher at a very disappointing place with only option of a sandwich with meat or a sausage I bread. These people did not either speak English. The day we went for a long guidet trip and needed food early they were not open and not willing to organise giving food the night before. Tried adding photos but the sight wouldn't let me.
Close to station TakaDanoBaba so we at least got get around to other places.

United StatesMattress wasn't terribly comfortable. The door locking/unlocking card system would benefit from better instruction in English. Upon checking into one of the rooms, the available roll of toilet paper was less than half full, with no in-room replacement.
Room amenities and layout were good, the view was fantastic. Hot water was a good temperature.

AustraliaThe beds have a window above that all of the streetlights shine straight onto pillows from all night, if you like to sleep in the dark without light shining on your face, be aware. I got so itchy from the beds, I couldn’t see any bugs but have horribly itchy bites all over, the walls had horrible stains all over them some look like they have never been wiped, the duvet cover had stains on it not washed between guests, everything was dusty.
The staff were pleasant although they did not respond to my message complaining of some issues.

JapanOne of the worst stays in any hotel I’ve ever had! The worst feature was cleanliness. The room was dirty - there was dust caked on the noticed board and opening to the fridge, the walls were covered in scuff marks, and there was a half drunk cup of water left in the room by a previous guest. Staff were fine but not particularly polite or welcoming. I would expect more from those in the hospitality trade. The room and bed were not particularly comfortable to stay in. In comparison to other hotels in the same price bracket or indeed much lower price brackets this place was truly terrible. I can’t recommend strongly enough not to stay here - after all the main thing that a guest wants in a hotel is cleanliness and comfort - this is was not. You’re better staying at somewhere else nearby there are some Richmond Hotels, Metz Hotels, Toyoko Inns and the like in the area which will give you a much better experience.
The wifi was acceptable, but other than that there wasn’t anything to like. I guess the elevator was also nice enough and the way the doors were locked and unlocked was slightly different from other hotels which proved a nice distraction from everything else.

JapanThe room was gross. The carpet was discoloured, the desk had scratch marks and stains all over it, everything smelled like smoke and the bed was hard. I’ve stayed in many different business hotels before but this was the worst one by far. All I expect is for things to be clean and it didn’t even meet that expectation. And I paid like $200 for it lol. What a joke.
The location was the only good thing. It was close to the car rental place.

United StatesRooms are a bit smaller than most standard American hotels but the location gives way to you spending very little time in your room. So that was fine in my opinion.
Amazing location! about a 5 min walk to the Takadanobaba Station which is perfect. Two 7/11’s within a one minute walk from the lobby. To top it off all off the food around the hotel was outstanding. 10/10 we will definitely be coming back!
