Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanNear roads, very noisy at night. Not recommend for those who has a problem of sleeping Divide bathroom/restroom for sex on different level (e.g., women in 2F, men in 3F). It could be inconvenience for women, especially in late night.
The position is good, just less than 10 minute from JR station Near Lawson, just 1 minute walk Free hot/cold water/coffee/tea, and even soup-bag

AustriaThere was a smell I could not identify, where it came from but it was still alright.
The room was nice, it was refreshing to have a room for myself after some time in hostels. I liked the futon and it got everything I needed. A small table and fridge has been in the room as well.

GreeceThe room walls had a few stains, but overall the facility was clean, especially considering that some areas are shared among guests. I stayed on the sixth floor, which has male restrooms, while additional restrooms and shower rooms for male guests are on the third floor. The showers were consistently clean when I used them.
Very convenient location and excellent value for money. Overall, a great option if you're looking for a budget-friendly place to stay in Yokohama. My economy single room wasn’t the tatami style shown in the pictures, but instead had a raised platform with wooden planks and a light futon mattress. I asked for an extra mattress for more support and received it without issue, so everything worked out well.

HungaryThe mattress was pretty thin so the bed felt a bit hard, and the pillow was filled with little plastic tubes, which isn't the worst, but I guess it's an acquired taste. The room also had a sort of dusty smell but I guess you get used to it, and opening the window+door helps ventilate. There are only 3 floors with showers (2 for men, 1 for women) so you might have to take the elevator to get there.
Pretty good location; the piers, Yokohama Stadion, Chinatown, Marine Tower are all within walking distance. Haneda airport is about an hour away via train with just one quick transfer at Yokohama station. Although the rooms are small, it's good enough for short-term and having a private room makes it great value compared to capsule hotels. You get basic amenities like slippers (on the smaller side though, but they were still barely usable for me), a TV in your room, towels and toothbrushes. There was hot water dispenser and some tea and instant coffee in the kitchen too. Self check-in and check-out is nice and easy, although I only got the e-mail about the self check-in and my room number after 19:00, so I did get a bit worried and called in advance to confirm. For check-out, you can just leave your key in a box at reception. I also ordered a sim card and had it delivered to the Hotel, the staff member was very kind and brought it to my room right away.

PolandThere was a weird smell inside the room, smelled like chemicals. The pillow was uncomfortable, and the neck hurt. It is a little bit inconvenient that female and men's toilets are on different floors.
It is a good place to stay for the short term, as the room is super small. Near proximity to the Chinese street and other tourist spots, including sea harbour. I liked that they had much earlier check-in time (15 o'clock) than usually we had in other locations. They have free coffee and tea.

Czech RepublicThere is enough of shared toilets (men and women have separate ones on alternating floors), but there seem to be only two showers for man and two for women for all the floors. Not a big deal, you just might wait a little.
The hostel is quite basic, but with all necessary stuff. There even is a laundry rooms. Cold and hot drinking water available. The reception handled our slightly late arrival very effectively (just left our rooms open for us). For the price, very nice!

JapanAlthough I could check in after the business hour, I had to pay for the hotel charge by cash, which was inconvenient. I wish they have online payment available.
The property was not so far from the JR stations. I arrived at the property after the business hour, but they let me into the property since the you only need to know the number for the keyless entry system.

PhilippinesThe room is definitely small but I expected that given the standard room size in Tokyo, Japan. For the price and the location of the hotel, it is a good deal.
The hotel is very near the train and bus station. It also has a nearby convenience store to buy necessities. Overall, it is a good place if you are just traveling alone.

JapanThe check-in time slot is a bit short (only 15-19), so if you arrive later than that and need to pay at the check out it becomes necessary to put the exact cash amount in a plastic envelope. It was not that big of a deal but it felt a bit weird not having any actual reception staff in the morning either.
Easy to get to. It was good enough and convenient for our one-night stay.

FranceWithout having constantly the climatisation on, the isolation is limited (december). It's in front of a highway, may bother people with light sleep (not my personal case). I recommand earplugs just in case. Also the glass door tends to vibrate. The kitchen equipment is limited (it's an hotel, not a guesthouse, so it can be understandable). Not so cheap for a small room with futon.
Quiet, the room in itself is fine, not in the middle of action but not too far from places (Chuukagai, Isezakicho, Yamate parks...).

United StatesNot sure if it's me and doing so much travel but this was the least comfortable bedding/floor I've had on this trip out of 2 capsules and 4 hotels. It seemed thin or maybe the flooring was harder or maybe it was the pillow which had larger pellets, more large bead or marble sized than bean. Doable but not very comfortable .
Very helpful and friendly staff, held my luggage for me for a few hours which helped me to do a side trip before my next hotel.

United KingdomRoom smelled slightly musty, but not enough to bother me. The tiny pillow full of beans was unusual.
The single rooms were larger than expected and well equipped with a fridge, folding table, mirror, and TV. I couldn't hear my neighbour on either side. The room was exactly what I needed for a single night. Everything was clean and clearly signposted. Sleeping on tatami mats can be a little hard if you're not used to it.

PhilippinesNot exactly about the hotel, but the train station is a bit far especially with carrying a luggage. I personally went during summer so it wasn't really ideal to walk about 10 minutes.
I like the cleanliness and facilities offered here. Lawson is also conveniently near from the hotel. There's also a vending machine inside, a paid washer and dryer if you're staying long and needs to reuse clothes. Love that there's water, tea, coffee and microwave heating station!
