How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewAffordable option for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it for more than a night.
The room was very small, and the bed—referred to as a "small double"—felt more like a king single in size. I travelled by car, and while the hotel offers limited paid parking on-site, it's available on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, I had to park a fair distance away as there were no spots left when I arrived.

Verified reviewFirstly the positives: the location was decent, price was ok, and room was fine generally. For the most part, this would warrant a much higher review. However, on this occasion I had the displeasure of interacting with the front desk start member who ruined my entire experience within the last 5 minutes of my stay.
Let me explain, At 9:55am on 19th May 2025 I asked the front desk staff to borrow the iron (commonly granted request) to iron one item of clothing. I speak Japanese so this conversation was in Japanese. The staff abruptly told me it was checkout time and only if I wished to extend and pay extra would he grant my request. I told him it would only take a few minutes and I'd be out, but he persisted. I explained that in every hotel I've ever stayed at, it has been fine and a short grace period for checkout is always given of around 15 mins (even though I'd probably not need it), but again he didn't relent. At this point, I was frustrated. I had a second request which based on the first, I knew would probably go the same way. I had a small broken suitcase which I wanted to dispose of. When I asked him this, he looked at me disbelievingly, the way someone looks at you as if I asked him to lend me a huge sum of money or stay at his parents house for a year at their cost. He shockingly responded "No, most certainly not" and glared at me without offering a possible solution or expressing remorse for not being able to assist in his capacity (the typical Japanese way). Overall this experience left me feeling irritated and I vowed never to stay at this brand of hotel again in the hopes I won't have a repeat of this type of attitude or behaviour from staff (and I stay at hotels in Japan at least one month out of every year). Now you know, you can make your own mind up whether the risk is worth it to be made to feel humiliated by front desk staff, I know what I would choose going forward!

The Shower curtain had mold on it. It could have been cleaner.

Verified reviewThe staff was helpful and fixed problems. They were available for questions. The location of hotel was convenient for food and the train station.
There was no breakfast but you had access to facility to make your own food. The staff was good but my room was not clean. It was dusty and the bathroom door had dirty smudges, my pillow cover had some kind of stain on it. The shower curtain bottom edge was discolored and had a small amount of mold. The staff replaced my shower curtain and my pillow cover. I had a new shower curtain. If the room was cleaner, it would have been a very good place to stay.

Verified reviewThe room was nice, clean, and well-equipped. The personnel was helpful and fluent in English speaking. The location was quite nice, not far from the train stations, some convenience stores, and restaurants in a 10-minute walk radius. I liked this place.
One could say, that the slippers may be too small for a man 6 feet tall. There is a kettle in the room, but the tea bag wasn't provided, as well as a mug. One can use a glass (stored in a fridge), but it can be somehow not quite convenient.
