How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unfortunately, the baths were closed for renovation, but I knew it beforehand, so no problem. The experience would be perfect if the lounge was larger, with more room to chill out without having to sit in the cafe (which is worth trying, by the way).
The room was spotless clean and very well designed, very comfortable and elegant. The hotel is very tasteful, refined, comfortable and well located in a quiet room near a boulevard in a nice, well-connected area of the city.

Beautiful hotel exactly what we wanted on our honeymoon the view from our room was outstanding and the activities were very good aswell. Very central to everything aswell!

We were staying right opposite the laundry room which makes it easy for us to check if the washers were occupied, and truly the only time they weren't was at 6am! The dryer doesn't quite work - we had our clothes go through two cycles in the dryer then gave up and used the hair dryer on them. The laundry room is probably the only negative aspect of the property. Do your laundry before your stay here or do it after, and you should be good to go!
This is my fav property to stay in during my 2-week Japan trip! While the location maybe just slightly too far in the hot summer heat, the stay itself makes me look forward to going back to rest at night. The room was clean and amenities thoughtfully provided for, Onsen bath was good as well! Will definitely book from this chain when I visit in the future!

Resol was very comfortable and had stylish rooms rooms which were quite large for Japanese standards. The staff was very courteous and the check in process was smooth. Breakfast had many options but I think they were understaffed for the amount of guests there were eating breakfast as some items at the buffet sat empty for a bit. Overall pleasant stay.

Breakfast didn't have that much variety. The rooms had a window but no view.
Great location close to a lot of the attractions like Niishi Fish Market, the river, and shops. The staff spoke English very well and was very polite and helpful. The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice and spacious. The breakfast was ok.

I loved everything and would gladly come back.
This hotel was just amazing. A luxury scent with a perfect price. Hotel staff were incredible, and even gave us perfect recommandation when their bath was under repair. It was unforgettable.

Breakfast was a bit monotonous after 6 nights. Scrambled eggs were not particularly nice. Overcooked and dry.
Stylish and well thought out. Having an onsen and laundry facilities is a plus. Rooms are tight but comfortable. Staff were all very helpful.

The room was spacious for two people. It was great having the extra space for luggage. The breakfast had plenty of options and great value. The women's onsen was a lovely addition to our stay. The washing machines and dryers were easy to use with the app.

They didn’t have almond milk for me. I’m lactose intolerant and can’t drink cows milk.
Almost everything but most of all the property had a washing machine and tumble dryer. That was really helpful because by this time of our trip my son and I had quite a bit of dirty laundry.

Rooms a bit cluttered. Too much unnecessary furniture.
Location is perfect. Feeling of a Ryokan. Evening shows in the reception were an added plus.

Onsen wasn’t as new as I’m use to but was clean and functional and not to busy.
We arrived while there was a traditional Japanese show which was really nice. Staff were amazing and room was pretty big compared to the usual Japanese standard..
