The only small downside was the breakfast — it was delivered to the room in a paper box and didn’t feel as fresh.

The location is excellent — right next to the entrance of Nara Park and overlooking a small pond. I also really liked the onsen, which was well-equipped with various products like shower gel and creams. The room was quite spacious, which is not very common for hotels in Japan. The property also has a shared common area with free coffee and tea. The absolute highlight was the small gift for our child, which included a cute toothbrush and slippers.

Right on the edge of the park, clean, comfortable, huge rooms. I left some stuff in my room and when I called from my next hotel a staff member offered to drive to Osaka with it. Amazingly helpful.

The location of the hotel is he main reason I enjoyed the stay. It was central to everything.

The rooms are very nice, clean and modern. However, the sliding screens in front of the window are covered with Japanese paper, which does not block thee sunlight. So when the sun rose around 5 AM, my room was full of sunlight. I think the hotel should add sunlight blocking curtains.

Breakfast was a bento delivered to my room. I was disappointed because I thought there would be a buffet. The bento was tasty, but the value was certainly not what I paid for the breakfast.

The location is just perfect - just a few minutes walk to Nara Park, lovely pond in the front and lots of food options nearby. The rooms were pretty and comfortable. Only downside is the lack of blackout curtains or blinds so it gets very bright in the room very early which is not ideal when travelling with kids.

Nothing. FYI, they don't have breakfast buffet but there's a Starbucks attached and so many eateries within a few minutes of the hotel.

This is a charming hotel next to a large pond and within minutes of shopping and restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and kind. Room was impeccable, the most spacious room I have stayed in Japan. There is a small but very comfortable and clean onsen on site. There is a Starbucks next to the hotel that opens at 8. Within 10 minutes of Nara park and the deer and 15 minutes of Todaiji temple. Also 15 minutes straight walk to JR train station and 7 min to kintetso Nara station, very convenient. If I am back in Nara, this is the hotel I would go to.

The rice paper blind doesn't block the sunlight too much. Though it's not a bad idea to wake up early, have a walk around the pond with the very famous rice cake as breakfast.

The premium location next to the pond. Yes, you do meet deer in front of the hotel if you are lucky 😉 Everything is nice and neat, filled with local artworks.

The switches are not conveniently located. Eg. have to walk to switch off the light when sleeping. Electric sockets, which are needed to charge phone etc, are placed behind TV! The window lets light in . Especially annoying when sun rises early! Consider black-out blinds.

    Convenient location.

We had booked a room with balcony to enjoy the view on the adjacent pond and pagoda. What we got was a room facing the (public) hotel terrace. To provide privacy, the room was blinded with a 2 m high wooden fence directly in front of our window. So instead of the expected view, we were stuck with a view on a wooden wall. Breakfast was served in the room and poor.

The Hotel is very Japanese - very clean and puristical - perfect location to explore the adjacent historic landmarks

I had a terrible time sleeping here. First of all, I'm not sure if this is because our room was in a corner, but the walls were paper thin. We would hear people outside all night! We initially thought a window or something was open because that's how clear the sound was. We could also hear the people in the room below us, clearly enough to hear the words they were saying if we listened. Lastly, there is a clock tower across the street...it goes off LOUDLY at midnight and 6 am..woke me both times.

The location is amazing, walking distance from Nara train station, as well as a stone's throw away from a lively street filled with shopping, street food, and restaurants. Also a short walk away from the heart of Nara Park and the deer! Decent public bath in the basement as well.
