We had such an amazing stay. The owners are the sweetest people who made us feel very welcome. The location is great, close to Lake Tazawa. During our stay the weather was grey and rainy, but the house felt really cosy and warm. Especially after the great meal the owners cooked and a lovely soak in the onsen. 10/10 recommend!

My parents were quite elderly with problems going down stairs so the fact that there was only one bathroom being on the ground floor away from the bedroom was quite a challenge, however, there are rails and we all managed.

Beautiful location and wonderful hosts. If you stay extra then great to have the home prepared meal which was amazing. Hosts were always ready to help and support.

Absolute nothing

The property is amazing. The space is huge and comfortable. The hosts are so lovely and this was an experience to remember. We were treated to Kiritanpo Nabe and a bottle of sake. So delicious! The unique private onsen is truely special and is such a great way to relax after a day walking. You will not regret staying here!

Much bugs around the area but nothing to do with the host!

Nice cottage overlooking the mountains and Lake 田沢湖 while easy to find. The host is super friendly, attentive and thoughtful. We have little gifts offered by the host including Japanese dessert, warm pack and Onsen powder from famous Kyroyu Onsen ( 乳頭溫泉鄉 黑湯溫泉）. The cottage has everything you need for a family who wants to prepare a meal in the house and enjoy the natural environment. And we also enjoyed music much via the Bluetooth speaker in the living room. Overall we loved our stay very much. The private Onsen is an absolute added value.

It's a beautiful house with fully equipped kitchen, blue tooth speaker, heater and a private onsen with mountain view. Free parking just outside the house. Super nice host who prepared special hot pot Kiritanpo Nabe which is super delicious with homemade grilled rice. Love the special dip for the crackers too. Were provided BBQ grill, charcoal for our BBQ. They also helped us buy Waygu beef from their regular supplier. We went to Wonder Mall at Kakunodate to buy BBQ stuff. Beef is cheap with great marbling. Host were very prompt in responding to all our queries. Highly recommended to stay here if you are in Akita.

Nothing at all, it was a perfect stay!

Everything about this place is wonderful - the hosts are such kind people, the house itself is really beautiful and interesting, with breathtaking views. An extra special touch was when the hosts made us a local hot pot banquet on the last night! The area is very beautiful with lots of walks and things to see. The private onsen in the house with views of the lake was wonderful after a day of exploring.

Endo couple is very friendly and helpful. Our family liked our stay in their nice house. The house was very spacious and has a lot of little touches. We came here for ski and didn’t rent a car. Endo gave us several free ride to the ski resort which is so helpful and we really appreciated! Endo’s wife is a very good chef and I super enjoyed her food, it was better than most of the food I ever had in Japan. I felt lucky I made the choice to stay here. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Tazawako next time.

The only very small thing that perhaps wasn’t our taste was the taxidermy animals in the cabin. But we understand that the area may be known for hunting so I can see how it may be suited to some guests.

We had such an incredible stay at the cabin and the highlight other than the wonderful private Ibsen was easily the Hosts. They were so warm and welcoming and even brought us homemade hotpot and cookies! The cabin is huge with beautiful peaceful scenery overlooking the lake. we would absolutely love to return someday.

Beautiful house with a lovely private onsen. The highlight is the owners who are extremely friendly and helpful and gave us lots of great tips for things to see and do in the area, as well as the chance to try traditional mochi grilling. Highly recommended!

Stunning location surrounded by snow and 5 mins drive to a great ski resort. The house is very well furnished with care, and the private onsen was the best! our whole family loved it. The kitchen was very well appointed for cooking family meals.

Had our own kitchen as group we cooked perfect set up plus hosts did 1 free breakfast it was delicious and 1 evening hotpot for group with local Sake it was amazing, the hosts were so so lovely and helpful loved their place, the spa onsen was perfect plus being so close to 7 onsens up the road which also awesome. Bus service to area although we rented a van from Morioka for 7 of us. Highly recommend lovely people and great regional meals all yummy, place was perfect, they even gave us a gift bag of local apple juices for our trip to the train such as lovely gesture too, very gracious helpful hosts!
