How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Rooms were small. The carpet in the halls were in horrible condition.
The double room was listed as available for three people. But it wasn’t no way should’ve accepted the room with 2 twin beds for three people because the twin beds were large. Glad they had a laundry room.

The hotel was very well situated near the train station and right along the Nebuta festival route. The rooms were a little small but very clean and very neat. And you get pajamas to wear!

1) Room was quite small. But at least we could still open our suitcases just fine

The bathing area is still under construction so unavailable.

The shower wasn't working properly. And I could hear the sound of water coming from the fridge area. I borrowed an iron from the front desk but was asked to carry the iron board and iron by myself even though the staff saw my hands were full. It would be nice if they could send it to my room.

Hotel Mystays was great for our one day stopover in Aomori. It was walking distance from the train station and had great food and coffee places nearby!

The shower temperature was unstable, and tended to cycle between very hot and very cold.
The hotel is in a super convenient location - a couple blocks from the train station and the popular beach, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. It also has unusually easy access from the street, since the entrance elevator goes to both the lobby and straight to room floors. We unexpectedly had a corner room, which was probably the biggest hotel room I've stayed in in Japan and had a nice view of the city. As a small bonus, the beds had a top sheet in addition to a duvet, which I appreciated.

smoking room is closed to the reception area, so it smells in the lobby.
Good hotel closed to the Aomori-station. Which is very convenient if you travel by train. Many shops, coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Hotel staff is very helpful. Good breakfast is a great plus!

Not the smallest room we've encountered, but the layout was a bit odd, not making good use of the available space.
Great location close to the station and some of the main attractions of Aomori. Easy access to buses for attractions further out. Hotel facilities mostly very good.

Great location just a short walk from the Aomori station, with plenty of shops and services nearby. The room, though compact, is well designed and clean, with a comfortable bed, electric kettle, and mini fridge. The staff were friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this place.

The bed and pillows were a little on the hard side.
The location is very close to the train station which is very convenient. There are lots of really good restaurants close by. The staff were really helpful in getting our luggage forwarded to our next hotel for us.

The hotel is a bit pricey during the peak sakura season.
Great location. - 5-min walk to train station, 7-min walk to the famous Nebuta Museum . 2-min walk to Auga Fresh Seafood Market at the basement of the city council building. It is a must for sushi lover. Love the super fresh fatty tuna. The steak restaurant opposite the hotel is also a good choice for beef lover. Bus to airport and Airase Stream is in front of the station.

The room was very small, though only typical for such a hotel in Japan.

For the price, even though it's peak sakura season, is quite high with limited facilities. For long term guest, staying more than 3 nights should provide at least 1 complementary free laundry. Even though its not expensive to pay, at least it would be a nice gesture. Would have given a higher 8 rating.
The location is quite convenient, about 3 min walk from JR station. Near to many eateries and some attractions as well. Bed is comfortable and I really like the big bathroom.
