Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NorwayIt was easy to check in, and the location was really convenient. The window in the womans bathroom was always askew, so it was pretty cold in there. The walls were pretty thin, so we could easily hear the other visitors, but it is to be expected at a place like this.

FranceUnclear about how to check in (and I didn't have data on arrival), someone else had the issue too. Also the walls are thin and it's not excluded to hear loud people.
Great facility, I enjoyed the room and balcony. Perfect location if you want to practice Aïkido at the Hombu Dojo (10min on foot).

JapanI guess this is partially my fault because I didn't look close enough when I booked it, but the only thing separating you from the common room is a thin door. Other guests came back around 10 PM and had a conversation in there the night before our flight when we were trying to go to sleep. Not the other guests' fault at all (to be fair they were making an effort to talk at low volume), but it made it hard to fall asleep. Also, the light coming through the blinds as well as the LEDs from the door make the room fairly bright at night, so I recommend eye masks for anyone sensitive to that. Also, you have to walk down two flights of stairs and go outside to get to the showers. Not a problem for me, but my mom had some difficulties. I would say this is a place for young travelers on a budget.
The location was great; easy access to the metro. The price is very affordable, and it is nice that you don't need to talk to any of the staff if you don't want to. I really enjoyed the view from the roof, probably the best part.

Hong KongWe booked a double room with a balcony and a double bed but ended up being assigned a balcony room with 2 single beds. We could've benefitted from more advice on transportation to/from the Shinjuku station and the airport as the closest station does not have direct route to Haneda Airport. It took around 20 mins to walk to the Shinjuku area where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. Luckily we found a bus that takes us there from the main road off of the guest house (which did not operate on weekends). On our final night, the washroom pipes were leaking onto the pedestrian level which was very smelly and unhygienic. There was not enough drinking water on 3/F for all the guests staying there. The shampoo and bath soap bottles were near empty in the showers each night.
Close enough to the Shinjuku area.

New Zealandwe stayed for 4 days and nothing in the communal area was cleaned during that time - the toilet became very dirty and unpleasant. also they never refilled the drinking water dispenser so there was no available drinking water!
Great location and the room was small but cute! There was a slight mishap with our room when we arrived and the staff were very quick to change it for us so thank you for that!! There was a washing machine which was great and the showers were nice!

Taiwanthe shower room is in the basement. my room is located at 3rd floor I had to walked outside and go downstairs. Which is fine if it's summer but it was winter, I can't bear it.
Even though the price is higher than usual, but at least it's cheaper than others during new year

South KoreaI was confused for the first few hours because the password for the self-check-in that the staff provided did not work. The male toilette was unclean according to my partner, though the female one was all right. It also would have been much nicer if there was a small mirror in the room since I had to come outside the room every time I needed it.
Great location! Also, the room was unexpectedly relatively clean considering the affordable price. The staff was also kind to take care of our parcel and left it in our room which arrived earlier than planned. Highly recommended.

CanadaThere are no staff on site to help you enter the property and the instructions are confusing. There are two outside doors and they seem like individual rooms but the rooms are behind these doors. It just is not obvious and it took me a while to figure it out. To shower you need to exit property and go down to the basement from outside. Not a huge deal but it might put off some people.
The area it is in is very quiet and nice to walk around early morning taking photos, yet still only a 15-20 minute walk to the absolute chaos of downtown Shinjuku. It was great for me having a rooftop to take photos from and watch cars and people passing by.

IrelandThe stairs up to the room were incredibly steep and dangerous, making it very difficult for carrying my suitcase. The shower room is in the basement. The wording of the property ad on booking.com made it sound like the twin room had a private shower and toilet. The showers were dirty, flooded, hair in the drains and generally unpleasant.
