Main sitting area could be nicer decorated with some comfortable armchairs and music. Seemed a nothing area.

Location to lift. Host amazing with service and friendliness. Breakfast small but tasty with some hot items. Our large 2 bedroom room had a toilet, but shared showers. Never any line for shower. Expensive, but very nice place to stay.

Japow 2 is the perfect location - on the main street with transport, restaurants and lifts all nearby. Mika san was very helpful in addressing any issues and always with a big smile! Dangerously close are tasty beers and burgers from No Name Myoko incase you're feeling a western feed. Biggg thanks to Kimi & Miyu san who also hosted my stay at Japow 1 for a few nights - I had the best time! They go above and beyond for guests at their lodge, which has such a cosy feel and is perfectly setup. It's a short walk to the main street but totally worth it! Arigato Japow team - I'll be visiting again!

I think the only major flaw is that the soundproofing in the rooms is quite bad. We can clearly hear people outside in the corridor, people outside the hotel, people below us in the hotel, etc. If you're a light sleeper and/or sensitive to noise, bring earplugs.

The showers were the best showers I've used in any hotel I've ever stayed at in any country. The toilets, rooms, facilities, were all extremely clean (other than the dry room, but what dry room is clean?) But more than anything, the main staff were so incredibly warm and friendly and nice. We were allowed a very very early check-in, we were given an additional futon bed, we were driven to and from ski resorts and the train station (for a fee) and even allowed to use the showers after we checked out. If I ever go back to Myoko, I'm coming back here, for sure.

Happy , every thing was good . hope to be able to for a couple of weeks next year

Breakfast was good. Staff was very accommodating in giving us a room which made it easier for me to access because I had recently had a hip replacement and found going up stairs difficult.

Narrow stairs down to dry room could do with widening & upgrade. Pillows, a small thing, but a decent pillow makes for a great night sleep!

Location was excellent. Close to lift For Akakura Onsen, bus stop for other resorts and main street for dinner options Breakfast in the mornings was excellent.

The room was spotless and well appointed, though more storage would be nice. I was hesitant about shared toilets and showers, but they were clean and mostly available when I needed them. Breakfast was great Akira and the staff were very helpful

This is getting rather picky but a range of pillows would be good. Unfortunately uncomfortable pillows don’t lead to good sleep. Also it can get very noisy so if you are a light sleeper not so good.

Fabulous location, very clean and spacious rooms. Huge comfy beds. The breakfast is great ! There are also meals available downstairs if you are too tired to go out. Staff very accommodating of our large group. Thanks

There is a gas heater in the rim that needs to have you attention every third hour or it turns of. A bit annoying.

This placerade is newly renovated, clean and has a very helpful staff.

Nothing, I thoroughly enjoyed everything Japowhouse had to offer.

I loved the location of Japowhouse 2. It was on Main Street close to food, bars, rentals, shuttles and ski lifts. I also loved the recently renovated, comfortable facilities. The breakfast each morning was a perfect way to set you up for a day of riding some amazing country. But most of all, I loved the staff. They were incredibly hospitable and supportive of our time at Japowhouse 2 and facilitated our stay in Akakura really well. From backcountry guides to where to get the best food, they had an answer for everything. They picked us up from the train station and waved us off from the train station.

There are gas-heaters in each room which work very well. However, there is an automatic switch-off every 3 hours as a safety-requirement. If you would like to keep the room warm, you may have to press a button to keep it running every 3 hours. However, we found that the fluffy and thick blankets provided that it wasn't necessary to run the heaters overnight.

Three things stood out as being exceptional at Japow House 2.0: 1) The staff: Akira-san (the manager), Kimi-san and the rest of the staff were always very hospitable and really went beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be. They really made it feel like we were simply staying at their house, rather than a hotel. The staff were also there to drive us to and from the Myoko-Kogen train station (for a reasonable cost) which was very convenient and comfortable. 2) The location: Unbeatable, it is within 2 minutes walk from various equipment rental companies as well as the chairlift to the Akakura Onsen slopes. It is also on the Main Street so everything in the village is within reach (including places to eat, convenience store, bars in the evening). 3) The hotel itself: There is only around 10 rooms in the place so it is very cozy (like a Japanese Bed & Breakfast). The place only opened one year ago so everything is very well-kept and new. The room was basic but it's everything you need and not more. There are plenty of bathrooms and showers available and there was never any wait. There is also coin laundry and dryer on the premises so you can do the washing which was also very appreciated.
