Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeNothing much! it was great. It was just unfortunate that the weather turned while we were there so transport options were down, the little number of restaurants were closed and there was no supermarket / konbini nearby, so would advise to buy groceries for your meals before you go. There was no food in the fridge, as mentioned in the description, but we had stocked up at Aeon supermarket at the Kabe station (JC60).
Very cool old house refurbished with modern fittings. Easy to understand instructions to get in. Had everything we needed - a mini kitchen with cooking utensils, comfy bed (we only slept upstairs), great location (short walk from Mitake station - about 10mins), safe surroundings (right across the Mitake post office), and easy access to hikes around (an enjoyable 40mins walk to the mitake cable car station). It happened to snow when we were there - it took awhile for the house to warm up since it was big. The best thing was the big onsen tub and the bath salts - very much needed after long hikes each day. Great little balcony upstairs to chill out and watch the sun set over the mountains. The team was very responsive, which was very much appreciated. When we left, unfortunately train lines got cancelled and we were stranded. They couldn't help, but they answered our questions readily. We acknowledge the effort. Would highly recommend.

JapanVery comfortable and clean for our family's stay. Great atmosphere and vibe throughout the home. Very convenient location for hiking Mt Mitake. We loved the nice large bathtub as well. So nice to soak after a long day of hiking. It was equipped with everything you would need (including 3 prong plugs which my husband found useful for his laptop). A previous review stated there weren't curtains in one of the bedrooms, but that was remedied as there were nice shutters to use during our stay. We had a lovely stay and we would recommend it to others!

United StatesWe prefer softer bedding, so we ended up using the blanket of the second futon to soften things up a bit which worked pretty well.
The time we spent in the room was mostly on the main floor because it got a little warm upstairs with the afternoon sun. There was plenty of space for the 2 of us and the sliding glass doors had screens which was great to let in fresh air. We used the GIANT tub for a great soak after our trip up and around Mt Mitake, easily fit me (6ft) and wife with plenty of room to spare. Theres also a nice desk thats upstairs which was a nice add and wouldve been used more if we stayed longer. Something we didnt take advantage of but was a nice touch, the hosts keep some drinks and frozen foods stocked with prices listed around the kitchen. There isn't a konbini around the Mitake train station, so this might be a nice life line if you're arriving late and didnt bring food.

United StatesThere was a hick up getting in. I paid but the owner I guess did not see the payment and we had to call back and forth until it got sorted out. Unfortunately we had to do it outside in the pouring rain.
The condo is beautiful and comfortable. The bathtub was enormous, your own private onsen.

New ZealandWe loved the apartment! Spacious, everything we needed, and clean. The bath was amazing after a day hiking up the mountain. We caught the bus (10min walk) to the cable car and hiked around Mt Mitake. All instructions were in English as well as Japanese so easy to work everything. Great communication and easy check in. Highly recommended this place to stay 😊

Japannot much I can say
it was our first time to visit the Okutama Mitake area, and this place served as a great base to explore the vicinity. It was huge, with room for more than six or seven adults two stay young, pretty good facility, and beautiful Japanese traditional style design, which was renovated and modernized. And… Oh, dear, the bath was exceptional! It was huge and literally enough to fit a whole family in, and the water felt great!

JapanWe had a difficult time getting into the building as the door code didn't work. We called the hosts and after about 45 minutes we were able to get in with a back-up key that was in a lock box. It was frustrating as it was night time, but the host was helpful and did solve the problem. The beds downstairs weren't as comfortable as futons would have been but the linens were nice.
The house itself is very well-restored and its fun to stay in an old home. The bath and shower area was huge--it fit our whole family so that was fun, kind of like an onsen after our day hiking! The location was easy for getting to Mitake-san by local bus or car and the river (walking distance) nearby was just lovely. The kitchen was well-equipped.
