I was referred by a friend to book this hotel and I have to say it didn't disappoint. Staff were great, location excellent, room had everything I needed. I didn't have any meals or drinks so no comment here. I did use the Onsen it was fabulous I usually had the place to myself, which was so peaceful. The only comment I would make was the water was 'very' hot. It was manageable but I would have liked it just slightly cooler.

the staff is very hands-off: no service to the room for the full 3 days i was there, but they do hang an extra towel and water on the handle every day. Moreover, it took some time to check me in

loved the location and the common areas such as the free snacks at the lounge and the public bath (though the heat is not enjoyable in the Summer :-) it was also quiet , which was a surprise for the busy neighborhood

Location was excellent, hidden from the hustle on a side street but with plenty of places to eat all around. Perfect for transport links too. The room was luxury, attention to detail, extremely comfortable, wanted to stay there all day! The onsen on site was fabulous and the reason we booked. It didn't disappoint. I want to come back!

The King Size bed is amazing. Enormous and comfy. The best nights sleep I've had since I came to Japan. It even has under bed lighting. The baths are also great.

Lovely stay! Staff are very friendly and helpful and speak great English. The room was perfect and the onsen and whiskey bar were an added bonus

Everything was good. The robe they supplied to use for the onsen didn't fit me well, but I didn't ask if they had one in a shorter size, so that's on me.

The hotel is decorated with traditional Japanese crafts which was so charming! We loved the onsen bath and the tasty breakfast. They also supplied toiletries, snacks, and an origami craft in the lobby. Location was super.

Perfect location for access to traditional Gion neighborhood, shops, metro and buses. Lovely lobby and breakfast buffet dining area. Onsen was well maintained. Quiet room with plenty of amenities even as a micro hotel scale king suite.

Everything! The staff was very nice, the room was cozy and comfortable And the location is in my opinion perfect, only one street from the river but far enough to have a quiet street

Absolutely excellent experience of my five days stay. Great location: you can discover city center right away and take a public transport in a few minutes. Very good A/C: it was around 35-37 outside (first days of August), but in the room it was still cool. Hot thermal bath downstairs was very relaxing. Lot's of fun places to visit around: general and high-end restaurants, bars and pubs.

Great hotel in a wonderful location. Close to tourist attractions and several train stops. Really good amenities and nice room. Breakfast is varied with good explanations on how to enjoy japanese food staples. Check-in available only at 3pm even if rooms may be ready, but there is an option to pay for an early check-in

Common areas and reception were nice, with comfortable living areas. Breakfast was fairly varied either both Japanese and Western options (please add butter by default! No one eats margarine). Our room was nicely decorated and with a tatami. Location can’t be improved.

It is well-located. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived at 8am and they stored our luggage. When we checked in at 3pm our bags were already in the room. They also provide toiletries in the lobby, which helps a lot!

There could have been better variety and quality of food.

Location of breakfast was convenient, clean and food and beverages were always refreshed.

I loved staying at this hotel! It was my first time in Kyoto and this hotel was GORGEOUS!!! Cannot recommend it enough, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The public onsen was like a small spa and meticulously kept clean. I wish I could have stayed longer! It also was very conveniently located in the Gion area, with both buses and trains very close by. I will definitely be staying here again!

Fantastic location and the room was beautiful. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others coming to Kyoto. Kyoto was the highlight of our trip.
