Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNot much to dislike, may be a bit smaller than the pictures seem but it isn’t an inconvenience.
The place was in a beautiful north side of Tokyo, but still in walking distance from a nice market street. The place was clean and inviting and the host was amazing. We had an amazing time.

BelgiumThe beds were comfortable in the beginning but i wouldn't stay there a week for your back.
It was really nice that it's just a small hostel. You get to know other international people pretty fast.

ItalySpaces are a bit small, but we think is the style of Japan. You couldn't really much cooking in the area, but it's really popular in Japan to buy in minimarkets like 7eleven or FamilyMart ready-made meals so we got by with dose or try the restaurants in the area they are really good and cheap!
The room was utterly perfect! Real traditional interiors. We had the one with futon and was the first time for us sleeping in it: so comfy :) We had an open window facing the street, every morning we woke up with natural light. Bathroom is really cleaned. We had the chance to leave our luggages at the reception before our check-in time which was really appreciate so we could spend some time outside around Tokyo before check-in time. In the room you have a map with good suggestions about markets, services and restaurants. For us was really helpful! I would say the position is awesome as well. You have peaceful streets where you can enjoy a walk and good restaurants/cafes nearby. It's not crowded and busy like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Even though Kita-Senju station is just 15 minutes walk so you can easily move through the city.

PhilippinesIt’s a 18 min walk from the station, but it’s ok. Just pray it won’t rain when you check in or out.
Cozy and homey! The bed is actually soft.

CanadaI had no issues with Kagaribi Guesthouse. The nearest train station is a 15-20 minute walk, however, and as much as I found that walk charming someone staying here may think otherwise.
Kagaribi Guesthouse is a cozy home away from home. Staying here was comfortable and the environment was welcoming. The owner is a kind, helpful person and always kept the house tidy.

JapanExcellently cleaned premises. Located near nice local shopping street with bento shop, bakery, crape, sushi, izakaya and you'll find much more! Coin laundry and convenience store on the corner. Free bike rental available also brighten my experience to stay in the area. Just that common room was a little cold in the morning, until the heating appliances get turned on after the certain time period

ItalyEverything is just perfect, I thought it was a bit far from the station but actually is NOT! With a shortcut is like 15 mins walk, pleasant walk. Or you can rent the bike for free from the hostel: I felt like home. Best hostel I ever been in Tokyo. Neighbourhood also is great.

Canada45 minutes to an hour away from most major spots in Tokyo. In no way a deal-breaker, but it did impede my ability to stay out at night.
Great host and the area is beautiful and near lots of businesses. The beds are comfortable and the shower was warm. What more do you need really?

HungaryThere was only 1 shower for many people, maybe that could be a problem for some people. It's also cold when you get out of shower. I also heard other guests complain about the bedroom being cold, but for me the comfy bed and warm blanket compensated. There might also be snorers, but you can take earplugs from the public area for free. I had no major problems.
I loved the community the most. But I also liked the beds, I liked that the surrounding streets had a lot of different foods and attractions, yet the area is really quiet. There are all kinds of spots in walking distance. The owner was responsive and very kind, I had no problems with communicating even without knowing Japanese. The station was very close so travelling was really easy too. The internet was good too... Overall there is nothing really special about the place, but it's clean and tidy, and has everything that one might need. I would come back without questions, because it was a pleasant surprise.
