The property was simple and very cozy, one of the best stops on our ride. The stuff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly- we felt like at home there. The facilities were great, especially the onsen - in and out.

That the dinner was served in another place

Private spas in hotel and sister hotel are amazing. Beats using public onsens.

Wish they had a shuttle to snow monkey park considering the price of the hotel

When I knew I was going to Japan, I wanted to stay at a traditional Ryokan with an onsen. After a lot of searching, I found Kamei no Yu, the price was fair, and I loved that it was smaller with only so many rooms. This place exceeds my expectations, the staff goes above and beyond no matter the language barriers. They make sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. It's the perfect way to relax and experience the true hospitality of Japan and its culture. I would highly recomend and would go back if I find myself in Japan agin.

Traditional stay, spacious rooms and pretty gardens

Uncomfortable Matt’s and pillows Shower room could use upgrade Spider webs and dust on woodwork in room Dining was excellent service and good meal but ambiance was terrible at the large hotel in one large banquet room. Breakfast at Kamei No Yu was nice atmosphere. Excellent service.

Very friendly staff, great facilities and exceptionally good food. Rooms are nice but a bit small. We didn't stay for very long but definitely would come back again.

Intimate atmosphere, smaller hotel with less rooms so it was nice and quiet and relaxing. Big bonus was the private bookable Onsen. The set meals were phenomenal and filling. Nearby access to Yudanaka station makes getting to and from Nagano station a breeze as well as hopping a bus to go to the Snow Monkey Park.

Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place.

Onsens, Fantastic Food, Snow Monkeys - What more could you ask for! A short walk from the Yudanaka Station, this is a perfect little spot. We chose to stay in the Japanese room, very comfortable with a gorgeous garden view where you could sit and forget about the world. The breakfast and dinner were absolute highlights of our stay. The breakfast was an amazing selection of many dishes beautifully presented using local ingredients. I loved the watercolor-sketched menu, which provided a unique and artistic description of each dish. The dinner service was equally impressive. The lovely staff were attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate our specific requests, ensuring a truly personalised dining experience. The staff at Kamei No Yu were exceptional throughout our stay. They were so incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any requests. We were particularly touched by the staff's attentiveness towards my mother, demonstrating a level of care that truly meant a lot to us. Tomo, and the ladies were incredibly patient and helpful. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the private onsen session. What a treat afetr a cold day exploring. Relaxing and rejuvenating experience, which I had one at home.

Nothing - as our last stop in Japan, it was a brilliant way to finish our trip on such a high.

Tomo is the best! He is so friendly and accommodating. The property is beautiful and the rooms are perfect! The food was seriously some of the best we had in our entire 1 month stay in Japan. Onsens were gorgeous too!

The room can get very cold! Be ready to cuddle up.
