Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAll the Facilities were very good. The location is rather inconvenient for eating out and skiing in Hakuba valley. However, the daily buses were never too late. Just make sure you don't miss the bus back if you plan to ski. Only problem I had was that the air conditioning on my floor was broken for the majority of my stay. The Staff tried their best to remedy this with a gas heater, however the room still got quite cold overnight. despite the hiccups, the rest of the stay was perfect, the provided japanese style breakfast was delicious. The hotel had great facilities, a room for drying skiing equipment and a piano in a side lobby. There was a beautiful outdoor onsen that was really nice and relaxing after a day out. Hotel staff were amazing and supper helpful, most spoke a bit of English and everyone was willing to try and communicate anyways despite language barriers. I would definitely visit again, especially in he summer when the football spa would be open. (closed due to deep snow)

SingaporeSpacious room, well equipped public bath.
The staffs are service oriented, one of them even packed drinks for my daughter who looks tired. The room is spacious, public bath is decent with many skincare products ready to use. The location itself is convenient to travel to Kurobe Alpine route but lack of restaurant to choose from, found one izakaya within walking distance which runs by an old man with decent food and value for money dinner.

United KingdomWhen we arrived at 16.00hrs we were told that the restaurant was fully booked. The bus stop, the only area where there is an alternative option is a 10-12 minute walk, or we could take a shuttle to a convenience store or buy pot noodles in the hotel’s shop. We went to the bus stop and had some lovely noodles but believe that this can be difficult with long waiting times during high season. It would have been nice if we had been contacted by the hotel to ask whether we’d like to book dinner to avoid the disappointment. As we needed to catch the 7.23hrs bus we were unable to enjoy breakfast that started at 7hrs and we were unable to get a packed breakfast or even pick up just some fruit, or even have breakfast 5-10 minutes before opening time. As it was when I walked in at 7 to see if there was anything that we could take with us there were quite a few people in already and eating. If we had been told we could go in before 7 we would have tried. Considering we paid for it it felt a bit bad that we couldn’t have anything or take away before we needed to leave.
The authentic room was very spacious and lovely touches such as the yukatas the tea/coffee making facility. Also nice touch of the welcoming drink in the lounge area plus a selection of more unique yukatas. The Onsen was very nice and opening times are great. Also enjoyed the foot bath outside of the lounge area. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very very helpful.

United StatesSome of the public areas smelled faintly of smoke and the onsite restaurants appeared to not be open at dinner time, forcing us to go off property. The breakfast was a very authentic Japanese one and beautifully prepared, but for those looking for any element of a Western breakfast, you will be disappointed.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, despite not speaking much English. The public Onsens were set in a beautiful setting, well ripped and the foot spa was heavenly!

SingaporeWe were a group of 4 travelling together. We ere not asked about any special food diet during our booking nor when we were paying for the hotel charges before check-in date. We were served beef and 3 out of the grpup of 4.cannot have beef due to their diet. The hotel.did not allow last minute changes nor able to offer any alternative to change the meat to pprk., end up they only have fish and vegetables. Suggest to make sure to specify food diet prior to booking to avoid disappointment. Other than that, the food spread was good and balance.

AustraliaThere was very little space available to be able to park the suitcases away, so they intruded into the little space available to move around in the room.
A well located, modern and pleasant hotel, Like most hotel rooms in Tokyo is felt and was small. Breakfast was good and the after 5:00pm nibbles and drinks lounge area great to help unwind after a busy day sightseeing. Staff were excellent.

SingaporeIt is a getaway from the city, so unless you drive, you can expect a little inconvenience in getting to the nearest train station. The hotel offers free shuttle services at fixed timings.
The staff were exceptional and the meals they provided were very well prepared; it was a small team and they have made us feel very relaxed and welcomed during our stay. The traditional ryokan experience was one of the best we had of Japan. Love the place!

United KingdomAir-conditioning does not have a cooling function. I wish they provided electric fans in the room. Although I slept well on their beds, my partner says the bed was quite firm for him. We wished that the hotel restaurant was more accessible for lunch/dinner. It would be helpful if there was a menu in the lobby that we could read through. The hotel's immediate area didn't have much to offer since it didn't seem to be peak season for onsen-goers (April) so food options are very limited.
Hotel Keisui is a lovely place to stay in. The check-in process was quite smooth. (if you are coming from Toyama to go through the Kurobe Alps, your luggage can be forwarded from Toyama station to hotel Keisui). The hotel lobby is pretty and has its own shop, vending machines, and a public onsen and a foot spa. The room we booked was the mixed Japanese-Western bedroom with outdoor tub. It was wonderful. There was plenty of space. There was a fridge to keep your drinks and tea and coffee were available. Yukata and slippers are provided. Towels and toiletries are supplied daily. The breakfast is superb! Do not miss it! The outdoor hot tub is amazing. You get to see the river below and the mountain range nearby. The staff are quite friendly and very helpful! My partner left his watch in the public onsen, but they managed to secure it until my partner inquired about it.

AustraliaLocation is a little bit out of the way, there were only two restaurants within walking distance open for dinner when we visited - food was amazing though so very worth it and the secluded part made it very peaceful. I think there might have been a dinner option at the hotel and there's a little store for gifts and snacks at the hotel.
Our room was beautiful - we had a private onsen bath which was wonderful.
