Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe only bad point is how far from any metro station the hotel is, it’s about 15min minimum walking distance from any station form the hotel at a minimum
The availability of the team at the welcome desk and the clear explanations Ask for a room with view on the Tokyo Tower The keyless system works very good too!

United StatesThe way the table was situated was a bit tight due to the ladder in the bunk beds. It would be best to move the ladder so we can all sit at the table (in room of4).
The staff was very helpful and assisted with many questions regarding the area. The complimentary items were also very helpful, specifically, the boardgames and uno was really cool!

United StatesThe bathroom had a strong urine smell despite being very clean looking.
The beds were very comfortable, and it was nice that they provided pajamas for us, which my kiddo loved. Checking in and out was easy, and it was generally a very quiet space. The AC worked well, thank goodness, because it was severely hot during our visit. I appreciated the drying rack and hangers provided. The location was pretty convenient.

NorwayWe had a fantastic stay at KOKO HOTEL Residence Asakusa Kappabashi. The room felt more like a small apartment than a standard hotel, perfect for our family of three. It included a washer/dryer, induction plates, microwave, toaster oven, and kitchenware, plus separate toilet and bath/laundry room. Much more spacious and comfortable than other hotels in the same price range. The location was excellent, close to all the attractions, shopping, and restaurants in Asakusa. Sensoji Temple is just a few minutes away, and we walked to Tokyo Skytree in just 25 minutes. The area felt very safe and was extremely walkable, with Kappabashi Kitchen Town right around the corner. Ueno is also a 15 minute walk away, or a short cab ride. While the hotel doesn't serve breakfast, there’s a vending machine, free coffee and tea in the lobby, and plenty of nearby konbinis and supermarkets. Plus, there are lots of great breakfast spots within walking distance if you prefer to eat out. The staff were friendly and very service-minded. Highly recommended!

New ZealandIt was a 20 min walk to the train station but that didn't bother us too much.
We loved staying at the Koko. It was spacious for 3 people in Tokyo. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the facilities were good. The area was nice and quiet but just a short walk to the vibrant Senso Ji temple area. The staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomLovely apartment, good space for four people and luggage. Very clean and cleaned again after 3 days, if staying longer, as well as free rental of anything from hair curlers to baby buggies. Really friendly staff with a good level of English. Good, central location within Asakusa, easy walking distance to Senso-ji temple and 100s of shops, and arcades of restaurants. Easy access to 2-3 train lines and stations in addition to being on a side street and so not noisy, as well as easy for taxis to stop outside. When I return to Tokyo, I will be staying here again.

New ZealandThere's plenty to do in Asakusa - heaps of food/nightlife and shopping options without being quite as hectic as Shinjuku and Shibuya. Koko hotel is in a nice quiet street away from the hustle and bustle but only a short walk (10 mins?) from the main shopping and eating areas and the Sensoji shrine and Nakamise street. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice lobby. Clean, tidy, comfortable and modern room. Slept 5 of us (Japanese style in the one room).

SwedenThe closest station to the hotel is either Asakusa on Asakusa line and Tawaramachi for the Ginza line and it's a bit of a tedious walk if you have a lot of heavy luggage on potentially crowded streets, but if you have the money getting a cab is really easy from and to the airport!
Everything from check in to check out was amazing! Location was great, close to both convenience stores and a supermarket! Just a few minute walk from the main tourist area of Asakusa but still in a less crowded corner. We got the Japanese family room and it was perfect for four people! We loved our room and had a great view of Tokyo sky tree from our windows. The room looked exactly like in the pictures and was super fresh!
