It’s a great place to enjoy the experience of ryokan. Note that it’s an hostel, so even though you might pay a little extra, you won’t get the “luxury”, but the staff is super friendly and it’s a very nice and cosy place.

The location is super convenient, close to both the train and bus stations. The staff member who assisted me was very friendly and talkative, which made me feel really comfortable. I also loved the music playing in the common area — it made the atmosphere very pleasant. I only stayed one night, but I truly enjoyed it.

The access from the street is up stairs, which was not a problem for us, but may be an issue if you have heavy luggage. We found the price to be somewhat expensive for this style of accommodation, in comparison to another hotel where we stayed in Kanazawa.

Very well located hostel, just a few minutes walk from the bus & train station. We were greeted by a very helpful English host who was able to provide us with useful information about what to see in the area. Our room was a private double room with bathroom: simply furnished but quite comfortable. There was a common lounge area and kitchen with fridges to store your own food, cooking and eating utensils and free coffee and tea from 7 am.

Pillow too thin/low. Quiet except if someone shower late at night, I can hear it as I am light sleeper.

Extremely clean and 3 mins walk from long haul bus terminal. Capsule/ bunk beds have privacy since it is within a room itself which is great for kids and family. Well documented rest and kitchen area to check out their well documented tour information. Staff speaks great English and very helpful with tourism information.

Only one shower room for the dorm floor but still manageable since we wake up early everyday so no hassle.

Strategic location, close to train/bus station and cafes. Family Mart just a short walking distance for those late night snacks. Comfortable lounge area and spacious kitchen area.

The bunk beds for our room were positioned oddly so it was a little inconvenient to access one of the bottom bunk beds, but we found that we could move the ladders out of the way to make space. There were also no surfaces in our particular room (two bunk beds) to put things down on or sit at.

Very conveniently located, immaculately clean accommodation with a fully stocked kitchen and charming communal area. Little local cultural items decorate the entire place. Elevator for hotel proper, but since checkin and reception is on the second floor, you still have to navigate some stairs every time you go in and out of the hotel. Plugs and lights conveniently positioned for each bed.

The light in the toilets (2nd floor) goes off automatically and shuts off too quickly leaving you in the dark.

I stayed in a “capsule” dorm and had the luck of one wall being a window so it did not feel too small and I had natural light. The lounge and kitchen were great - well equipped and always clean and it is nice and cozy which helps meet other travelers. The staff were very helpful and had some great tips for my stay. I realy enjoyed the place and the location.

Among the 6 hotels and hostels we stayed at during our 9-day Central Japan trip, my family and I agree that the best accommodation so far was K's House! Checking in was quick and their front desk staff were very kind. They allowed us to leave our luggages until the check-in time while we sped off discovering Takayama. It's just a 5-min walk to Takayama Station and Nohi Bus Center. Our room and the ensuite T&B were very clean, very spacious and so comfortable. They have a cute elevator (from front desk to guest rooms) for travelers like us with big luggages. Their shared kitchen and living space were so great with everything you need! We saved a lot on meals since we were able to prepare our own food. Their rooftop is an added facility you should not miss to have a good view of the surrounding neighborhood. My teens loved this! Can't tell enough how much we loved K's House! Takayama is one place we really admired. And if we ever get the chance to visit again, we will definitely choose K's House again and again! Thank you very much for your accommodation. Your place is now part of our core memories!

The location was so great. Staffs are so.nice. The room is just a bit old, and the private bathroom is quite small. But the shared kitchen and the dining area are very lovely...so that we had a place to chat and eat.

Not a hug problem but the storage space we get is not big enough to put a cabin luggage in and the space to open your luggage is not very big in the room. As most hostels in Japan it seems, there is no real vibe to meet other people or just have some random chat - everyone minds their own business.

Very easy and convenient due to the great location next to the station. Nice and clean common areas with table to eat, sofas and good size kitchen. The bed was also comfortable.

Excellent location, very close to the station. Short walk to old town and the morning markets. We had a hire car and there was paid parking almost right next door to hostel , ¥900/24 hrs although there is cheeper parking the further away you move from the station. We were traveling as a family of 5 with young kids so appreciated parking close. Share common room and kitchen very clean and well equipped. Good string shower in the private room that at two bunk beds. My youngest shared a bed with me.
