Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe hotel is very comfortable and the rooms are big, with all necessary equipment. Very great place (10min walk from train station) for visiting Hiroshima. The personal is very nice and breakfast (not served in room nor in restaurant) is western style and good quality (and very cheap). We strongly recommend this hotel.

United KingdomLoved it here! The staff were amazing and the room was very spacious and had a lovely view over the river. Really convenient for the train station and a pleasant walk into the centre of Hiroshima too - especially in cherry blossom season!

AustriaLocation is close to the train station, but a little outside of the center. But therefore more calm in no big street
Very big room with a western double bed and a Tatami place to sleep. Nice calm view from the balcony. The staff was young, modern, very friendly! A small introduction to Sake with tasting was part of the stay.

United KingdomBeautiful hotel, with really welcoming staff. We liked the spacious room with lounge area and the breakfast box provided by the hotel was great. The rooms were immaculately clean and super comfortable. The hotel is well placed for walking to the station and a short tram ride to the peace museum.

NetherlandsEverything was better than we could have hoped for. There was nothing we did not like.
Convenient location, close to both the central station and the city centre with a convenience store close by. Spacious room with 2 ACs, mini-fridge, comfortable beds and a balcony. Sparkling clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities. Luxurious bathroom, you will never want to leave! Staff is very friendly, polite and eager to assist. This is definitely an outstanding value for money accommodation.

United KingdomThis place is about a 10 minute walk from the main station and near the Carp Baseball stadium. We loved our stay, the staff were extremely friendly and spoke very good English. We opted for Koto lessons which was definitely a highlight of our trip. We managed to get tickets for the baseball game which we would also highly recommend (Id suggest everyone attends at least one on their trip to Japan)being as the stadium is near by. Accommodation was very good value for money, a small boutique hotel with a personal touch.

FinlandI was honestly quite disappointed for the fact that we weren’t offered any room service during our stay (2 nights). We decided to opt for this hotel as we thought the service would be more personalised and detailed compared to our original booking in a much bigger hotel. The trash bins were really small and we had to take the trash out by ourselves, and even put new trash bags on the bins. I just didn’t expect this, and to make my own bed, when paying more than 150€/night. The hotel has 11 rooms, so one would assume they’d have the capacity to take daily care of them. We were also a bit bothered by the noises coming from upstairs, it felt like somebody was running constantly on the floor above. This is not the hotel’s fault yet the other travellers’.
Our room was well equipped, spacious and a nice mixture of Japanese and western culture. I also loved the bed, I slept really well. I also liked the detail of having the breakfast at the tatami, and the breakfast was well enough for its cheap price. The location was pretty close to the railway station, but also easily accessible to the touristic attractions via tram.

United StatesThough close to Hiroshima station (10 min walk), it is not that central to the main city sites, though also not that far. We took a street car to go out for dinner which was a short and easy ride, and also took a taxi one night which was quick and not to expensive
We booked the executive twin and the amount of space was luxurious. Everything in this small boutique hotel is new and clean as well. The staff are so sweet, friendly and helpful. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Hiroshima station which was quite convenient

It felt like being in a typical Japanese house. The room is very spacious, with one double bed and the possibility of having futons to live the 100% Japanese experience. Also, they have us a breakfast basket that we enjoyed in our room. They usually serve breakfast from 8.30am, but Since we wanted to leave the hotel earlier, they gave us the basket the night before. I loved the overall experience!
