The host was extremely helpful and friendly

Steep steps if you are staying on the higher floor

The lodge was welcoming, homely and warm. Our hosts were exceptional and so helpful with all our questions. They went above and beyond to assist us everyday. We absolutely will be back and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

I loved everything about our stay!

Very clean, modern but yet keeps that homey lodge feel. Great common areas and easy to access dry room, toilets, showers etc.

Not much heating and the heater in the room can only be turned on for 8 hours at a time so can get quite cold at night.

Hospitality of both hosts is amazing. Very helpful and considerate. Offer extra steps to accommodate our needs.

Bed pad can be a little thicker

The breakfast oscillated between buffet (good) and set Japanese style tray (small servings by western standards). The bath room wasn’t particularly hot and the spa bath did not work.

Location for skiing is ideal. Walk over the road and ski down on piste to the ticket office/ gondola. Prepared meals were excellent. Extremely clean.

The location is fantastic, right across the road from the ski slopes. The hosts were so kind and accommodating (we were able to hire our ski gear and buy lift passes through them & they kindly drove our luggage to the bus stop for us when we were departing), the breakfasts were delicious, the facilities were very clean and we appreciated the washer and dryer facilities. Thank you so much!

Very clean and close to gondola

Loved that the slopes were literally across the street and we could snowboard straight down to the ski lifts. The amenities were clean, and the lodge was super cosy. The host cooked us amazing breakfasts and helped us out when we needed to get in touch with the ski schools.

The futon mattresses needed getting used to especially after 4 aching days of snowboarding.

Super close to the gondola. Basically ski-in ski-out. The owners are really nice and hospitable. They have discounted lift prices and can easily grab rental gear for you. Breakfast was delicious, since food was homemade! The lodge aesthetically is beautiful. They have a room to dry and store all your snow equipment. I’m not sure there’s anything else I can say! This place needs to be gatekept. Hope to be back!

The staff members are incredibly helpful and accommodating, not only sharing information but also assisting us in making dinner reservations.

We are 2 adults and a teenager stayling in a 2-storey family room. The room is very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The dinner was a hotpot set which was delicious. The hosts provided useful information of the nearby ski resorts and the transportation ways to us. They are nice and friendly. There is a cozy space for our lazy-bone time after dinner. A free hot bath with an outdoor snow view through the window is also the unique feature. The location is just beside the base slope of the Tsugaike ski resort where you can easily ski-in and out. In general, I would certainly recommend this lodge for others.

We loved staying in this lodge - a really homely place to stay and a real authentic ski lodge vibe. My (Aussie) kids were a little apprehensive about shared bathrooms and sleeping on tatami mats, but they loved staying here and spent most nights playing board games* while the adults tried the local sake and craft beers. We could ski in and ski out from the other side of the road, so it was ideally located fro Tsugiake Kogan, but not great if your plans are to jump on the shuttle bus and resort hop. The lodge arranged a really great ski rental service, that delivered and picked up our gear from the lodge, and we enjoyed skiing on better than average skis. 10/10 experience, would recommend!

Lovely lodge, well designed and well arranged. Food is great, and eating together with other guests was fun.
