How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSet amid the forest near Mt Fuji, this lovely and quiet place is a breath of fresh air from the crowded Fujikawaguchiko area. The hosts are very welcoming, have very good recommendations for beautiful Mt Fuji views (Tsūgenji temple during Golden Hour!) and make sure you lack for nothing. Really loved our stay with our 1,5 year old daughter.

Verified reviewMama-san and Papa-san were perfect hosts and incredibly accommodating. We only stayed for one night traveling through, but it was well worth it. Our room was comfortable and the lodge had a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend getting the breakfast-super yummy! Thank you for making sure we got to our bus on time in the morning!

Verified reviewOur family of 5 loved this place! Mama-san and Papa-san took very good care of us. Breakfast were absolutely delicious, thoughtfully made. We have a rental car, this location was ideal for exploring the Mt Fuji and surrounding fhe area around it. Their rommendations for local restaurants were excellent! 11 out of 10 for Stack Point ❤️

Verified reviewWe were greeted by a very warm welcome upon arrival by the couple! The house was very homely, felt like we were staying at a relative's house for a short visit. Papa-san was quick to guide us about the nearby park with amazing views and photo-ops of Mt. Fuji! It was magical. At night, he would stay up with us and offered us drinks (chargeable of course) and it was just chilling in the cabin. The breakfast was also great so please avail at least once!
The smell of kerosene from their warmers, it was a bit much for me.

Verified reviewVery good breakfast, the perfect start in the day. The couple running the place is very nice and makes the already great stay even better. Of course, it is a bit remote, but very quiet and tranquil.

Verified reviewHost was really friendly and welcoming. Love the location.
The bed was uncomfortable. It could use an extra layer of foam under the futon for cushion. The bunkbed wasn’t the most comfortable but for the overall accommodation and price given the location it was okay. Other than that we had a great stay.

Verified reviewI don't think it's possible to overstate the experience we had staying at Lodge Stack. Our little family of 4 really felt totally at home and comfortable with Papa-san and Mama-san. You're welcomed into their home, where there's an array of "things" - little keepsakes, random decorations, photos, trinkets, and other things you'd expect to see in someone's home. The hosts were ready to attend to every need that we had, and we really enjoyed the time spent in the main dining/sitting area, chatting with other guests just enjoying the atmosphere. I'd really recommend this place to anyone, but we found it extremely family-friendly. There is a 7/11 at the end of the main road as well, so you're not too far from food or snacks. It's also easily in walking distance of a giant playground with a great view of Mt Fuji.
I wish we stayed here longer!

Verified reviewThe hosts are amazing, very friendly and informative, they answered all my questions about local attractions and offered some really good suggestions about things to do. We ended up following their suggestions and had a wonderful stay. The breakfast was incredible and there was enough food to even satisfy my 2 six foot four twin boys who seem insatiable most meals.
Can't think of anything I'd like to change there.

Verified reviewI liked everything, the room was good, and the bathrooms clean and new. The owners were a lovely couple that helpess us in all they can. The place is relaxing, you can go everywhere taking a bus but check on google the hours and know maybe they could be late like 5 a 20 minutes. I loved how they were with us, I feel so good !

Verified reviewLoved the fabulous couple who owned and ran Lodge Stack Point, so friendly and hospitable - it was a pleasure to spend time in their company. Unfortunately we only had one night here but would recommend to other travellers. It’s a remote location but if you have a car it’s convenient for visiting Fuji close by (Apparently there is a bus stop nearby)The local onset is excellent!

Verified reviewThe hosts were so warm, friendly, and caring. They truly differentiated the stay with their hospitality and friendliness. The breakfast was also great - a full course meal, complemented with vegetables which had been lacking in our traveling diet. Quaint home and beautiful ryokan room with comfortable mattress and bedding.
