It is not super close to the centre if you don’t have your own car but it is easily accessible by public transport

The decor of the guesthouse is super cool. It was all done by the owner by hand! The sleeping area is small but practical and comes with all necessities, plug, light, fan. There is also a coffee and fridge etc for food The owners are really friendly and helped me out so much when I fell ill when staying at the guesthouse. They made me feel so welcome and they were so kind and hospitable There are also 2 bicycles you can use for free

    日本人の繊細なかたには向き不向きあると思います 外国人が日本文化を知るには最高の場所だと思います

This traditional Japanese-style house is full of character and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. While it’s not a fully private room, the sleeping area is well separated, offering a comfortable sense of privacy. Sounds do carry a bit, as it’s an old house, but the creativity in the space makes each stay feel fresh and inspiring. It’s conveniently located—about 10 minutes by bus to Shin-Suizenji Station and around 15 minutes to central Kumamoto. The nearby “Gootarian” space is also a nice addition. The area has historic spots like Kengun Shrine, perfect for a morning walk. With shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby, it’s easy to grab a bento or snacks and relax at the accommodation. It really feels like staying in a local home. Free parking is a big plus. I prefer not to drive at night, so being able to park and explore by bus has worked out perfectly.

The place is kind of noisy sometimes.

The place was Japanese style and very authentic. The owners were super nice and reachable, they helped with everything and always with a smile! Thank you for a great experience:)
