Natural shabby farmhouse setting among farms in Yamanashi. Waking up to the sound of a stream running by and wide windows. Felt like glamping. Very relaxed surroundings and family friendly. My kids loved the trampoline and swingset. Some people prefer hotels, but they are not child-friendly usually. Ryokans also are too formal for families. A farmhouse inn with Tiny House for glamping was the perfect location. We enjoyed our stay!

Host was incredible at curating the perfect stay. Beautiful accommodations and delicious and affordable breakfast. Super beautiful fire flies out my window all night, and the bed was super comfy. Only wish I could've stayed longer.

Nice authentic house in biggest fruit growing area of Japan. In house architect at work, very nicely styled. Combination of traditional japanese and modern. Host speaks excellent English and is enthusiastic. Very quiet in the evening. Nice garden

You need a car to go there, its far from the station :)

The owner and his own bar where you can get in toch with him, he is very friendly :)! He cooked me a vegan curry, which was very nice :)!

It was very cold in the shower room! It was winter and it's an old house so it's understandable, just a bit uncomfortable. The neighborhood is a little ways out from the main city area, so this stay might not be convenient if you don't have a car.

Mekiki is so charming and welcoming, and the host is so kind! We loved the retro common area and the fact that certain elements of the old traditional house had been preserved. You can tell that this place is run with great care. We stayed in one of the villas and it was so cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. We visited in wintertime so the greenery on the property was sparse but it was still lovely. We liked being able to use the firepit outside and enjoyed some stargazing on a chilly night.

The only inconvenience was the toilet at night. Because we were a couple and assigned a lodge apart from the main building, we had to walk in the cold to access to toilet in the main building in winter. I didn’t mind much because experiencing the quiet, cold countryside of Japan felt like part of the experience too!

A beautiful, renovated old Japanese traditional home in a secluded area! Perfect for those who want to get away from the hub and merge in the local residential area. The home has some fun, classic board games and soccer game table as well!

There are lots of amazing things around this place. You can have nice local specialties and enjoy hot springs. In addition to this, the staff are welcoming and friendly! I definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

Like everywhere in Japan, there are no blinds and so the rooms are very bright even at night and the morning sun makes it worse in the early morning.

Great house, well furnished with a very nice garden and great view! We spend part of our evening sitting on the heated mat in the main room while having drinks and snacks, it felt like an authentic Japanese party :D

The villa we stayed is fascinating, the window wall is facing to a natural scene and able to hear the streams of the river. The function hall has a full range of vintage stuff laid out and everything is well preserved and displayed. The music is also country chic, making the experience extraordinary.

The shower compared to the rest of the house was a bit run down and could use a refurbishing. The A/C in the room was a bit noisy but for us it was no problem

I liked the overall vibe of the place and the staff was willing to wait for us for the later check-in
