How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewAfter the terrible experience we had at the previous hotel we had stayed I was honestly very hesitant about booking again. We needed a nine-night stay, but most hotels in the area were either fully booked or extremely overpriced. I had never stayed in an “aparthotel” before (an apartment hotel with a front desk that isn’t staffed 24/7), so I was nervous about it not being a “real” hotel. But what an amazing surprise this place turned out to be. It’s gorgeous. Their motto is that it should feel like a second home away from home in Japan — and it truly does. The staff is wonderful, the kids’ activities are great, and the specialty coffee they serve is perfect. Our apartment was spotless, beautifully furnished, and fully equipped. We stayed in a two-bedroom with two full bathrooms, and it had absolutely everything we needed. This place completely changed my mind about aparthotels. I highly, highly, highly recommend it — especially for families traveling to Tokyo. It’s comfortable, clean, affordable, and truly feels like a home away from home.

Air conditioning, while cooling well (we were in the apartment in August during high heat) turned on and off incessantly during the night, waking us up.

The neighbors of the floor above us had clearly uneducated children, running very early in the morning and very late at night. However, the hotel is very well sound proofed and cannot be blame for bad parents.

Verified reviewAbsolutely loved the size of the room, it was perfect for our family of 5, with spacious bunk beds for the kids and 2 bathrooms/showers, and a great washing machine for laundry. The staff are kind and very helpful. There were some arts and crafts activities in the lobby area for the kids to enjoy, and a coffee shop as well. Walking distance to the metro stop and direct train line to Haneda airport which was convenient.

Verified reviewLocation was good, some people may like it closer to something more touristy, but this place is not by anything major. I knew that going in and it was fine for us. Staff were really nice and also helped arrange a taxi to pick up my family to go to the airport our last day. Having a bigger size refrigerator helped keeping different variety of drinks and food cold for the Japan summer heat & humidity!
I did know this going in, but as most of other Asian hotels go, the place is tight even though we had the corner family unit. the living room area is not very big but the layout where the bedroom sliding doors opened to the living room helped.

Verified reviewIt’s clean and cozy, I really wanted to love it but the hotel gave us a room on the 3rd floor, the windows are tiny and there’s no sunlight it felt like a dark room, therefore the humidity was a bit intolerable…and there’s an unpleasant odour in the bathroom…

Regarding the windows, as you mentioned, the living room windows in some rooms are smaller, although there are larger windows near the beds. We are sorry that you found the room to be dark. The Japanese-style shades are designed to block sunlight slightly, which may have contributed to the dimness you experienced. We also apologize for the odor in the bathroom. The elevators would always stop on Level 2 for the reception area even though the button for the floor was not pressed.

Verified reviewGreat Location away from all of the hustle bustle that can be Tokyo with a lot of local charm. Still close enough and central enough to get to all of the major sites with ease. Nihonbashi in particular is close to Ginza, Tsukiji, Ueno and Asakusa so this was a good hub for both attractions and shopping. Room was big and accommodating for our family of 5 especially in comparison to other hotel stays in Japan.

Verified reviewIf one of the top things you look for in a hotel is quiet you will love this hotel. I couldn't believe how quiet it was in the middle of Tokyo. There is a great breakfast place for an authentic Japanese breakfast just a few minutes walk away (maybe 10 minutes), Shinpachi Shokudo Shinjuku, really good food and inexpensive, plus seating for groups upstairs. We loved having the two separate rooms plus the living area and two bathrooms. It was nice to have space to spread out. You do have to take a subway to most attractions (it's located in the business district), but it was in-between a few major attractions. If you like to run there is a trail by the river just half a mile away. Plus there is an AMAZING bakery, Teal, within walking distance (10-15 minute walk). It was super clean and the staff here was the most friendly and helpful out of all our stays in Japan. Plus there are even activities to do at the hotel. It's right next to a convenience store and close to a grocery store.
Bedside tables and more hooks or counter space in the bathroom would have been nice.
