Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe bathroom smelled a bit funky so we purchased deodorizing spray from Lawson’s to kill the funk.
Good location, short walk from stations and the fancy shopping district. Lots of space and comfy beds.

AustraliaIt was a little too far away from everything for us. You had to walk a fair way for breakfast, lunch or dinner which was a shame. The desk at the hotel was never staffed when we were coming or going so was unable to ask questions. We had to contact them through Booking.com. Check in process after travelling for over 20 hours can be confusing. But we managed to access the room after a little while.
Monoka Hotel Ginza was a great size and neat and tidy. It had a bath for our son which was great and a little space to have tea or your breakfast. It had a convenience store just across the road which was handy. Staff when contacted got back to us fairly quickly and handled situations well. Well priced.

SingaporeBooked a room for 3 people so we had 2 single bed and 1 futon. However when we opened up the futon bed to use, it wasn’t as clean as we thought. There were patches of big stains on the futon which wasn’t pleasant to see. The next 4 nights, one of us had to squeeze in one of the single bed 🫠 In terms of location, if it’s your first time to Japan, I would suggest staying near the shibuya or shinjuku area as the main bulk of stuffs to see are located there unless it’s the shrines or shops specific to the ginza area.
It was really spacious, Lawson is just opposite the accommodation! Nearest train station is just a 5-10 min walk away. 1 train stop away from Tokyo station! Huge toilet & a bathtub, good for families.

CanadaIt had a little bit of a musty smell. It wasn’t overwhelming and you got used to it quickly but there are obviously some moisture issues. A dehumidifier would likely help a lot.
Great value - affordable and close to Tokyo Station and lots of restaurants. Spacious room

United StatesThey seemed to be cleaning only what’s in front of you. Take a look at the shelve in the bathroom, the mold on the edge of wall and the floor where you stand showering. The Fulton in the closet is full of stain and the extra pillows smell as if they had used and not cleaned. Room space is decent for 4 people.
Quiet. Walkable.

PhilippinesAt the second floor room, there’s an unpleasant smell once I get out of the elevator and go in the room. The room did not have a small dining table. The automatic touch lock was low batt on the day we left. Thankfully, it was the last day.
The location is very convenient. Rooms are spacious. There’s Netflix and a YouTube app. Safe surroundings.

AustraliaThe reception is not manned. There was rarely anyone there so there is no opportunity to leave luggage with reception after checkout/in. The futon beds are standard Japanese Style and thickness - so pretty uncomfortable by western standards. The 2 small double beds are too soft with very flat pillows - so had a few neck issues.
Located in a quiet part of Ginza. A little far apart from the main area. Family mart across the road. The rooms were clean and modern. They allowed us to check in early - good communication of room access. The family sized room is as described with enough space to open suitcases without them being in the way.

AustraliaThe apartment had a horrible lingering smell as soon as we checked in. We had to keep the window and sliding door open throughout our stay to try and air it out, however I think the smell was of a larger issue. The room was dirty. There were stains and marks all over the walls, doors, sink and other surfaces. Dust everywhere and what looks to be mold in the bathroom upon closer inspection. There were also stains on the bedding.
Location was okay. Convenience stores and train stations are within walking distance, as expected in Japan.

PhilippinesThe cleanliness is not satisfactory, as there was no way our room was made to be clean and ready. Also, the heater emitted a huge amount of dust which triggered my allergy. The bath tub was also not up to the standards of cleanliness.

SingaporeNot much to complain about. Maybe a washing machine would have been helpful as we had a stay of a week. Else wise very good and convenient place.
The location is convenient and the place is good for a family of 4/5 pax. The place is specious and sparkling clean. It has basic items like an oven mini fridge and Water heating which takes care of quick reheating and storing needs. Lawsons store is just the road cross. There is a person at reception during working hours for any issues or suggestions we have. Over all a good place. 😀

United StatesWish that the trash bins were bigger as well as having extra sheet readily available for use. And need a better cleaning the decor of plants have good amound of dust as well as better towels. Some towels were not in good shape
The space was amazing. Having 2 kids that little tea are was their favorite place to hang out. Close to 2 station Hatchobori snd something ginza. Its about a 20min walk to tsukiji market. Loved thay there was a lawson infornt of the hotel. Learned food gets delivered at 7am then placed on shelves by 9am. Alot of 7eleven and family mart in the aream The room is ideal for family. Has great space. And has a big clothing rack as well as to place shoes. The best thing was the toilet(even has a mini sink) was separated from the shower. But even if you are in the shower the glass is frosted so it doesnt limit each other to get everyone ready. Its a pretty quite neighborhood. Will definitely recommend this to everyone. And will comeback!
