How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewthe view is impacable, waking up with the mount fuji view!
They didn't make it clear about the bbq dinner / bonfire timing, we started late and were rushed to cook everything and move back into the dome.

Verified reviewThe staffs were great. We recommend the bbq! The view is even better than the pictures. Everything was so perfect!
The neighbors on the last night did not respect the curfew... we had to go and tell them to keep it down as the staffs did not.

Verified reviewAmazing location. One of a kind. Very cosy.
Dinner time is too early. You have to come back to the room super early to get your food otherwise you’ll not be able to eat, which is kind of unacceptable.

Verified reviewWe really loved our stay. It was a beautiful location looking right at Mount Fuji. It was extra special as we were really lucky with a beautiful day and night so the visibility of Mount Fuji was excellent! We wished we could have stayed an extra night. This place is really relaxing
We arrived at 2pm in the afternoon after getting a bus from Tokyo and than a taxi from the train station. On arrival we were informed that we couldn't stay on the property until 3pm. Just something that would have been great to know as there is no reception, sitting area for guests to even wait. Normally check in is at 3pm but to not be able to wait at the property until that time would have been vital to know and we would have stayed in town for longer Not a deal breaker and we had a wonderful experience once we could check in but its just something nice to know for your organisation

Verified reviewSuzuki san was very kind and came to pick us up earlier than we booked the shuttle. The view of mount Fuji is amazing from our room. We got a lot of food and it was really good. Staff was always ready to help us. The heated beds were really nice!!
The tent gets stuffy a little in the morning and it's pricey for two people.

Verified reviewThe BBQ setup was fun and the heated blankets were useful and effective.
A barren „camp ground“ with partially blocked views (tent E). Breakfast consisted of the bare minimum. The tent was stuffed full of furniture and left little room to move. Overpriced and not nearly like advertised.

Verified reviewThe only great thing about this place was the staff. Shin Ji and Suzuki were so nice and so helpful!
First, our driver couldn't even get his car up to the buildings so we had to carry/roll our luggage up a very steep hill. Second, there were many signs warning us that the facility is in a rock slide area. Of course, they were in Japanese, but the big red letters saying 'No!' prompted us to use Google translate. This was very disturbing since the structures are not very strong. Third, the rest of the tents were overtaken by a very large Chinese group with a bunch of children who were very, very loud until very late and started again early the next morning. I know the staff had no control over this, and they were very apologetic the next morning. But pointing this out because if it should happen again, be prepared for a lot of noise. Fourth, our tent was not very clean. There was a lot of dust, and my feet were dirty just walking around in the tent. They expect us to take our shoes off, and they do provide slippers, but they also appeared to be very dirty. Fifth, everything in the room was worn out and shabby. The lamps had broken parts, the refrigerator was old and smelled bad, and the remote for the air conditioner didn't work. I don't like to give bad reviews, but had to on this one! We actually checked out a day early and went to a different clamping spot for the rest of our stay, even though we knew we wouldn't get a refund for the second night. It was worth taking the hit on the money just to get out of that situation.

Verified reviewThis was going to be our fancy expensive stay on our Japan trip and it ended up being disappointing. The tents were nice inside but was a difficult location to get to without taking a taxi, and no options for dinner if you don’t want the BBQ at your tent (my partner is vegetarian and there wasn’t any options). We had some good views of Mt Fuji but we definitely would have rather stayed somewhere closer to the lake even without a view and then walk down there like we did anyway. We found the staff quite overbearing also, and not a lot of independence at this place, lots of our stay involved the staff explaining every detail or having to stick to an odd routine.

Verified reviewDespite the reasonable price charged, the property and its amenities fell short of expectations. Several issues arose during my stay. The domes were leaking water, and the towels near the edges were old and unclean. Furthermore, the property’s 9 pm curfew limits the opportunity to utilize outdoor services, as the staff and reception close at that hour. Consequently, the only means of receiving service is by contacting the property directly. Additionally, the half-board food provided included a dirty grill. The provided wood bundle burned quickly, rendering it ineffective for both outdoor grilling and bonfires. Consequently, additional wood bundles, each costing 1000 yen, must be purchased to achieve these objectives. Based on these experiences, I strongly advise against recommending this establishment to others.

Verified reviewStaff were very accommodating. Appreciated the meal delivery to the tent site (breakfast, BBQ dinner), and collection of used dishes, etc. Room and beds are especially comfortable. Bathroom was modern, clean and comfortable.
It rained during our stay, and the tent leaked in a few spots; it seemed to be addressed by the second night. More disappointing was that Mt. Fuji was not visible at all due to the weather.
