The word “extraordinary” is more than fitting for this hotel. From the very first moment, you feel genuinely welcomed and completely at ease. The friendly and exceptionally helpful staff deserve special mention, as do the outstanding breakfasts and dinners served during your stay. With many local ingredients and traditional Japanese culinary artistry at a fine dining level, absolutely no wishes are left unfulfilled. The rooms themselves are spacious, impeccably clean, and furnished with great attention to detail. After a wonderful day exploring the area, you can relax either on the terrace with its Zen garden or in your own private onsen bath. While the price is somewhat higher, it is absolutely justified given the quality of service provided. I would gladly return here at any time.

The inn and staff exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. They helped arrange a taxi to and from the Mt Fuji station which was very helpful. The staff were so accommodating and welcoming, and paid attention to all the small details. The meals for breakfast and dinner were unique and delicious - make sure to come to meals hungry! We have some food allergies and had no issues throughout our stay. The inn is gorgeous and we had an amazing time riding bikes around Oshino Village. This was the end of our two week honeymoon, and it was such a special way to end our trip. I truly feel this was the stay of a lifetime, especially with the gorgeous views of Fuji-san. Thank you again for everything!

The ryokan was outstanding — the service was impeccable, and the kaiseki dinner was the best meal we’ve ever had. Everything was spotless and beautifully maintained.

Exceptional staff- we felt extremely well cared for. Food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. All drinks in the mini bar was included, which was a great bonus, and the TV had several apps we could use. It was the best and most comfortable ryokan I’ve stayed at.

The location is a bit hard to get to if you do not have a car, otherwise taxi can be an option.

Nothing, it is pure excellence!

Quiet, beautiful setting, near to Oshino but without the bustle. Views of Fujisan from the loving quarters, impeccable service from a lovely staff, some of the best kaiseki meals we’ve had.

Nothing—I would change nothing.

This ryokan was an excellent stay. We were able to reserve bikes (though we didn't have time to use them), had a full kaiseki dinner, and a very large traditional breakfast spread. Dinner was one of my favorite meals of the trip, and I definitely ate a lot of things I wouldn't normally choose. The staff was very kind as well, and explained everything about our room and stay upon arrival, with tea and a jelly wagashi (that looked like Mt. Fuji) to enjoy during the explanation. Our room was very large and comfortable, too.

Getting from the train station to the ryokan wasn't super ideal with large luggage, because the buses generally don't want you to board with large luggage. We took a taxi instead, but wasn't a big deal as it was only a 15 minute ride!

We had an exceptional stay at Konohanakan! The staff are brilliant and very attentive; we felt very well taken care of during our entire stay. The language barrier is no issue as we were able to communicate easily using Google translate when needed. The entire apartment is sparkling clean and beautifully presented with great amenities. The view of Mt. Fuji is breathtaking and the private onsen was very relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. We visited Oshino Hakkai (the "Eight Seas of Oshino") in the local area which is well worth a visit. It is only about a 20 minute walk from the ryokan. We had dinner and breakfast included in our stay which was a huge highlight for us! The food was delicious and wonderfully presented. Everything about our stay was impressive, and we can't wait to come back.

I wish it was in a better location! Oshino is a small village, and it takes some time to travel to nearby sightseeing locations (e.g. Kawaguchiko) using local public transportation. We had a great time getting away from it all, but make sure to factor this into your planning as busses can be less frequent and often run late.

Our first ryokan experience that has set the bar high! From the moment I stepped through the doors, we felt welcomed and cared for in the most genuine way. The atmosphere was peaceful and authentic, with a perfect balance of traditional charm and modern comfort. The apartment was beautifully arranged—sliding shoji doors, and a serene view of Mount Fuji that made me instantly relax. The beds were comfortable, and everything was immaculately clean. The private onsen was a highlight—soothing, quiet, and surrounded by nature, it felt like a true retreat from the outside world. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely stunning—each dish beautifully presented, seasonal, and full of flavor. It was a whole experience, not just a meal. Breakfast was equally thoughtful and satisfying. What made it really special, though, was the hospitality. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always anticipating needs without being intrusive. We will definitely return!

It was my favorite Japan experience so far. The apartment is spacious, clean and comfortable. And the private onsen is beyond words, it's just magnificent! The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Would definitely stay again!

The location is a bit away from main transport stops, but they offer a transfer to the station when you checkout, so it's not critical at all.
