Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing - it was great. Other reviews have highlighted the toilet being slightly separate from the room - which is true - but I actually seen this a as a positive. It was nice to bathe, change and get ready slightly separated from the main room
The property is in the heart of the historical district of Kurashiki so the location was great, there are many shops and food places around as well. The facilities were good, a particular highlight is the bath with a wet room, it was great for a soak after a long day walking around. The staff were all very pleasant and the inn was kept clean and tidy with little snacks, clean towels and Pyjamas also being left daily. The check in was also particularly good as many local spots were highlighted to us, plus we were given some welcome snacks that are all locally sourced (the peach juice is particularly good). If you want to go somewhere other than the ‘Golden Triangle’ then Kurashiki and Temari inn come highly recommended from me

AustraliaNot really a negative because we knew in advance but the staircase is quite steep!
Location was incredible. Beautiful spot to watch the world go by. Staff were very helpful. All of the details in the room were really beautiful. We loved soaking in the bath.

SingaporeBathroom and toilet is downstairs so it’s not as convenient, especially if it’s cold outside (not sure if it’s sheltered though).
Beautiful place with very friendly host. Great experience in a traditional Japanese space. Love the welcome snacks and drinks and the introduction to the area.

United StatesWe only wish we would have planned to stay longer in Kurashiki!
We loved everything about our stay at Temari Inn Yukikai and only wish we could have stayed longer. From the accommodations, to the amenities, to the staff and the location, everything was just perfect. We fell in love with Kurashiki and plan to return for another visit as soon as possible. When we return, without a doubt, we will stay at Temari Inn Yukikai!

AustraliaStairs a bit tricky but we got used to them.
This place is very nice. More like a little apartment than a room at an inn. There’s only one guest room in this inn but it is made up of a large bedroom, a large lounge room area overlooking the historic street, a small landing area at the top of the stairs and a wash basin room all upstairs. Downstairs is the toilet, bathroom and Japanese tub/wash room. Stairs are a bit tricky if you are tall so watch your head. Architecture is very traditional and beautifully done. Place is nicely appointed in minamalist style with local craft furniture and small items. Very quiet and in great location. Staff were very helpful with perfect English.

Very nice place in the heart of Kurashiki. The room is very pretty and comfortable. The toilet and bathing area are down stairs, which was completely fine for us, but maybe something to keep in mind. The staff was also very kind and helpful.

AustraliaNothing! We loved it.
We actually changed and stayed in a two bedroom property also owned by Temari Inn called Madaromi, also located in Kurashiki Biken Historical district. Junko, the owner, was absolutely wonderful, welcoming us and showing us the apartment and telling us about Kurashiki. The apartment is gorgeous, clean, and very well appointed. It is newly renovated and so comfortable. The location is wonderful, in the historic quarter with easy access to fantastic restaurants, galleries, shrines, the river, and cute shops. It has a kitchen, and we were able to make breakfast. Junko recommended a fabulous yakitori restaurant nearby for dinner. The historic town of Kurashiki is definitely worth a visit, with beautifully preserved architecture of the Edo period surrounding a picturesque river. Our stay here was a highlight of our holiday. Thank you so much, Junko!

United StatesHas a great view of the street! The hair care products were amazing and my sister would love to know them. The real selling point on this beautiful traditional townhome is the private iron bath that retains heat and smells in a way that can not be easily described. A rare and unique experience coupled with a very cute/caring staff (thank you hideyo!) that was very accommodating and patient with us

From a welcome drink and treat, to sleeping kimono to use, to afternoon drinks and treats. They even made reservations for us at a head spa and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.
