Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOnly downside was the wifi connection only time it was good was the middle of the day when most people were out on the slopes
The staff were so nice and lovely!!! Would recommend the accom just for that alone! The place has breakfast and dinner and the occasional lunch service. They offer to pick you up from Kutchan station which was lovely and they were able to drop me back off there too. Right opposite 7/11 and the bus stop up the the mountain. They also offer bus services to/from the slopes.

Good location with a convenient shuttle (though it doesn't run often). The included breakfast was very good and the bed was comfortable.

IsraelWe had double bed but they had no double blanket. Wifi was not working at all in the evenings in our floor (or very very slow), and there is very low cellular reception so we basically been disconnected each evening. Location is far from the gondola but it’s manageable after getting used to the town shuttles system.
The facilities are clean and well maintained. The ramen restaurant inside is really good and well needed at the evening as there is no much other food options around. They provide free shuttle on check in and checkout which is also really helpful as the location is far from the center.

United StatesA lot of the other guests were a bit on the younger side and didn't treat the facilities very well, so the bathrooms were sometimes in tough shape.
Breakfast and dinner being included in the cost of the stay was a really good value, especially considering that the stay was a great price. The shuttle only runs in the morning, but was still very convenient for getting to town or to the resort to snowboard. Other amenities like the gear room were also very nice.

AustraliaThe WiFi was extremely poor, and at most times, useless. The property is about 2k from centre of town but a free shuttle bus is nearby.
It was value for money. The property put a morning shuttle bus on to convey guests to the hirafu centre and it was conveniently placed across the road from 7/11. The property provided daily breakfast and dinner could be purchased at reasonable prices from a limited menu. Self serve check-in worked well. Staff were helpful and the facilities were good including laundry, ski equipment room and self serve kitchen.

New ZealandWifi was the worst wifi in Japan. On a scale of 1 to 10 it gets a 1, I would prefer to give it a 0. Because of this buying lift ticks on the net is near impossible. Very easy to fix for the owners to fix.
Very good food. Breakfast and especially Dinner.

AustraliaTerrible wifi throughout, and poor phone reception downstairs. Hand basins in bathrooms not cleaned properly, although showers and toilets good.
Super comfortable beds, clean bedrooms and common areas, good heating if you want it in your room, comfortable temperature elsewhere, windows that can be opened, away from the noise and bustle of Hirafu, parking, decent ski room with waxing facilities, super helpful staff.

AustraliaIt is a bit further from the main town at HIRAFU but very walkable. Has a 7 eleven and restaurants across the road too.
Second time staying here. Great value for accomodation in Niseko with parking. Rooms are cost but has everything you need. Highlight was the breakfast. Restaurant Tam Tam was also excellent at night - awesome food and very affordable compared to the rest of Niseko The ski locker/dry room is also excellent

AustraliaUnfortunately some of the other guests in the hostel vomited in the hall and men's bathroom, and again next night in the men's bathroom - its was disgusting. I felt sorry for the staff, who I assume cleaned it up as it was gone when we came back those days from skiing. So all things being equal, if you don't need to use the share facilities and can afford the room with your own toilet and shower - then this might be a good idea. You need to get bus back from the slopes - there's quite a few options so not too bad when you get used to it.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was good value. Overall good value compared to other places. Facilities were generally good (see comment below). Shuttle to take you to the slopes (and pick up / drop off at bus station) was always on time.

CanadaThe rooms are not very big for 4 people. Wifi was quite bad, almost not working in the rooms, but better in the hall. The hotel is a few bus stops from the Hirafu base. There is a free night shuttle in the evening to get to the Kutchan town, but the shuttle bus is small and by the time it reaches the hotel stop, it's full so you can't get on it. Unfortunately, the transport system in Niseko is not great during the busy season so you do need those free shuttles.
The included breakfast was good. The onsite restaurant is not expensive. Staff was friendly. They provide a free shuttle from the Kutchan station when you arrive and also a shuttle to the Hirafu base in the morning (it's not easy to get around on your own there). I booked this place because it was the cheapest I could find in Niseko. I guess accounting for that, it was not bad. It was also kinda last minute booking. If I were to go to Niseko again and this place would be the cheapest, I would stay again.
