Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaRoom was quite bright in the morning and with other lights from the aircon unit and TV it doesn't get very dark. Dinner buffet was expensive (around 6000 yen) for the quality, much of the food was cold and had been sitting out for a while, which was disappointing for the price you pay.
Location is excellent, particularly close to the Fuji Q Highland theme park but also Lake Kawaguchiko is walking distance (if you don't mind a longer walk). Facilities were clean and comfortable. We were able to see Mount Fuji from the room.

United StatesThe hotel and room was clean. The staff was friendly during check in. Enjoyed the onsen - they had an indoor and outdoor bath. We booked a room with Mt. Fuji view. The view was great but note that the rollercoaster from the nearby amusement park is also inline of the view.

United StatesNothing. It was a perfect stay.
1. The proximity to the station. It was a 5 min walk from Fujikyu Highland Station. 2. The view - We booked a room with a view of Mt. Fuji. The 2 days we were there, Fuji-san was just showing off and gave us an incredibly great image. It was well worth it. 3. The onsen - what an incredible view of Mt. Fuji from the onsen. It was truly breathtaking. They do have an indoor and outdoor onsen which I thought was really great. Sometimes it gets too hot inside an indoor onsen, so it was a great option to have an outdoor one too. 4. The breakfast - was one for the books! One of the best breakfast we had in Japan. Their Japanese breakfast options were great and the American breakfast options were good too!

JapanWe booked a family room and the size was adequate but looked bigger in the pictures. It is Japan after all so we are used to small rooms. There was no closet to store luggage.
The beds were comfortable. We were in an upper floor family room and the view was lovely. The breakfast buffet was really good with many options to choose from. Our family of four enjoyed having both Japanese food and Western food options. Sometimes hotel breakfasts can be disappointing but it was really good. The staff were also courteous and attentive. Another note...the A/C was actually cold and lovely.

SingaporeNone But just for info for families with young kids and large luggage, its really far from the train station (15-20 min walk). I drove so it wasnt an issue.
The view was amazing (if you can if ignore the powerlines :) ) Four single beds, two slightly larger ones. Breakfast was good, international styled. Onsen? First time trying, was great (outdoor one would have a good view of Fuji-san on a good day) but felt that there was too much restrictions. Large carpark with ample parking. Best layout for toilet, washbasin and bathtub. All seperate from each other with doors for the toilet and bathtub.

United StatesNot much. Expensive dinner buffet but we ate at any number of surrounding good restaurants.
Walking proximity to Fuji Q amusement park was definitely number one. Loved the breakfast buffet and absolutely loved that they had an onsen spa. Great views of Mt Fuji on top of that!

TaiwanThe air conditioners seem to turn itself off once the temperature is at its level and doesn't turn on even if the room temperature deviates the setup. Not sure if it's my own room's problem. Did not bother to ask.
Driving to this place is a bit tricky as the Google map and Apple map will give you a very local route, especially at night it is not ideal. Though once you arrive and in day time, you get to be familiar with the neighborhood, it beomces convenient. The supermarket is only 400 meters away. The lake is within walking distance but to go around the late, most tourists will rent bicycle or motorcycle ( other than driving a car.)

United StatesWhile the views were good, they weren't quite the views advertised to us. Our room window didn't go far enough for all four people to see out from their beds and we were on a wall not directly facing towards Mt. Fuji. The onsen window was dirty and steamy so you couldn't see out very well. The room was also very small and cramped with the four of us in there.
The facilities were very clean and the onsen was refreshing. The location is good. The staff went above and beyond for us and spoke good English.

AustraliaRoom (non fuji side - facing the car park) could get quite warm during the day.
Location wasn't too far from the train station. Private hotel onsen. Hotel provides good instructions on how to use. Breakfast had quite a variety. Uses a queueing system which I can see would be quite useful in peak seasons.
