Great location and lovely view from the room. We loved the Onsen. Was good place to relax in.

We couldn’t open the windows (apparently due to termites). I would have liked to have known this beforehand as part of the reason we booked was to enjoy the mountain air! The room wasn’t cleaned whilst we were there and rubbish not emptied/towels changed. This did not reflect the price we paid to stay here.

Very cute Inn, with charming ambiance, friendly staff and nice onsen. The breakfast was also very good.

A bit difficult to get to, but the dedicated parking lot is convenient.

This is a beautiful and meticulously kept Ryokan. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very big and you feel catapulted back in time. Breakfast is a five course meal and was one of the best breakfasts we had in our trip. Although the Inn is not directly located at the beach, it is just a short walk to the downtown area and the ocean. There is ample parking behind the building. We would stay here again.

Great hotel in a traditional Japanese style. The room was beautiful, we had a private garden with an open air bathroom. A perfect place to relax. We had a lovely stay

We were lucky I guess because there were no other guests around at the same time, so we had the onsen for us which was nice since it is quite small and could get very crowded with other people around.

Most of the time there was no one at the reception and the check-in was also a bit weird. I also don’t mind that they don’t clean the rooms every day but they should at least pick up the trash every second day or bring new towels every day for the onsen. I think it’s way too expensive for the “service” that they offer because as I said 99% of the time we did not see any staff member and if we asked a question once we didn’t get any useful answer..

Great accommodation with a nice private area to enjoy. Authentic Japanese experience in a lovely quaint seaside onsen town. Friendly staff, would highly recommend.

It’s a very nice old building. It’s on a slope and surrounded by nature. It’s in a very traditional Japanese style. Very beautiful. Onsen in the terrace. The breakfast is totally a steal, amazing food quality.

This old-ryokan sits atop a hill overlooking the beach town of Shirahama and some of the elegant rooms have ocean views. While the rooms are tatami-mat traditional, facilities are good and there are western beds. The ryokan has a good onsen and the Japanese breakfasts are spectacular, while also giving a nod to Western tastes.i didn’t get to use the bar or billiard room.

The ryokan was a bit quiet when I was there, perhaps because it was pre-summer season. Watch out for low doorways.

The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious and very well served. The view from our room was amazing; the residence was located up the hill, giving it a really nice view of the sea and islands without the humidity of residing right beside the sea. The whole residence was very quiet, including the room, lounge and hot spring.

If to pick one it would be difficulty of climbing up the hill with luggage - it would be difficult in hot summer.

There was a short walk from the bus stop up a hill. The staff greeted us warmly and showed us around the hotel which showed it had heritage status with beautiful old furniture. The view from our room was perfect at sunset. The onsen was magic

More information on where to eat as we found it difficult to find anything open. It was a good hike to restaurants

    Bedroom with onsens for ourselves.

Cold water only at the sink. Also, the room was cold one night, as the heater was too strong and noisy.

There was a free parking space

The rooms are much smaller than in the photos, it generally looks very dark and it smelled musty. We didn't really feel comfortable and at a very high price.

Very nice hotel with extremely authentic Japanese culture experience. It is an old building but can meet all the modern needs. The bath area is unique and big, the hot spring is comfortable. It was a wonderful experience.
